This won't be well received but Aranda is an enabler for O. That was the biggest factor in hiring O.

If Dave was staying/going regardless, then O is out of the picture.

But then again with Alleva, who knows what he's thinking.

Any evidence to support this? Genuinely curious. I thought the biggest factor was we wouldn't pay for Jimbo and Herman played us so Allevas backed in to the O hire to save money and face (when he pretended like O was his guy all along).

I agree. LSU is stuck with O this year and next regardless of record. Talking about it just makes the fact more nauseating, so not sure why people are starting threads to self-torture themselves. Just grin and bear it.

But don't be shocked if there's talk of extending him after back to back 4 loss seasons. That seems to be the new acceptable status quo for LSU leadership and as long as it's being met, O may be welcome here.

What would get him on the hot seat next year?

Hmmm. Could be, but I am not sure I agree with you. I think if O loses to Bama and UGA and also one other SEC team I think he is on very thin ice. Another mediocre season next year and I see him and Alleva likely gone. If Alleva survives I bet he promotes Aranda. He's basically paid like a new/unproven HC already why not give him the title too? That's the type of lazy thinking from Alleva I would expect.

Just an opinion but the threat of losing Aranda if O wasn't named HC allowed Joe to somewhat justify the hire.

Recall that O was a low cost alternative with the promise that he would hire the best coordinators. If Aranda was already gone, that element mostly dies.

But I bet Joe got home and boosted to his wife what a great deal he got on a HC today.

he probably did and when he told her about the buyout clause her response was "Joe wtf?!? You got played!"

Depends on who the AD is. Giving Alleva a second chance to hire a new HC would be more criminal than it was for him to settle on O the first go-round.

Logic would tell you that there's no way an AD would be given the chance to make a second bad football HC hire. But this is LSU we're talking about, so all logic is out the window.

I see us being 9-3. Before the UF game I was thinking 11-1 was possible but was expecting 10-2.

If we lose to UGA and Bama, we sure better win the rest. 9-3 is realistic when looking at this schedule and knowing the challenges faced with the OL.

At 9-3 I'm willing to give this staff another season. I don't think it would be wise to change the OC and offense 3 times in 3 yrs. Let the OL and last year for Joe B get another year of this offense. I would like to see so more creativity in it though.

I think next year is a potential SECCG run if OL and DL improve.

Lol! O was like the ugly fat chick left at the bar at 2 in the morning. Only it’s was really 10PM and Alleva just got shot down by two hotties, so he just pounded a few shots said F@(k it and took the very eager fat chick home.

It’s purpose is to underscore the stupidity of hiring him as HC and thereby highlighting the incompetence of the decision-making process at LSU. I have not said that I want the team to lose to be rid of Eddie, I have merely stated that it, the losing, is inevitable because Orgeron cannot coach. This will set the program back some years.

Why wasn't Orgeron's boss promoted in the first place? That fact that he wasn't tells us that the decision to elevate 0 was, at bottom, a political one.

We can say and think whatever we want about the program, but we are a win away from being a top 10 college football program 7 games into the season. That ain’t all that bad.

After having our AD criticize the LSU offensive performance of our last coach and fire the LSU OC, you could’ve knocked me over with a feather when he then suggested hiring a DL coach already on the LSU staff. I mean really, if you see the offense as that much of a major problem, why in the world do you hire a DL guy on the same staff???

Too late to worry about it now. We just need to beat Georgia.

Never seen so many sellout, pussy fricking fans. Get behind and support your team and coaches, you spoiled little shits.

We have 2 huge wins and 1 close loss to a hungary and good Gator team in the swamp.

All you nega tigers need to sack up and root like hell for our Tigers!
