Yeah let's have the team out there running plays they don't know how to execute.

Plays that aren't being executed well in practice aren't going to work in game. That's generally a good philosophy, games will be harder to execute in than practice is.

Well, after 30 years of GoodOleLess it seems as though we have at least 5 plays down pat, and maybe this year we should expect 6 or even heaven forbid 7 different plays. The ones GoodOleLess calls will be fairly easy to spot. They will be the ones right before our punter makes his appearance.

The amount of hate the greatest LSU coach ever has to endure... The man could go 11-1 and play in the playoffs and people would focus on the 1 loss still.

You have a problem with this

It's become apparent that Les and Cams threshold for executing plays is extremely high. There are HS teams that run more complex offenses

it's more plays that they aren't perfectly executing in practice

sometimes, plays that are needed to attack the defense presented

i mean what's better/worse: perfectly executing a play that won't work or executing a play at 85% that is perfect for the D?

This has been les's philosophy since he's been here. He is not going to run a play in the game unless it's been executed to precision in practice.

That's every coach's philosophy. What kind of an idiot would run a play in a game that they can't run successfully in practice?

No, Les will be here as long as he wants. The schedule allows him to win 9 games most years. Throw in a crappy bowl win and you have 10 win seasons. We'll consistently hear, "you can't fire a 10 win coach". We'll also consistently lose to bama with our predictable offense from the 70's.

Les is not going to allow his offense to run any plays in a game that he finds to be "risky".

Really? Like halfback passes? Reverses? Fake kicks? Going for it on fourth down? Yeah, Les never does risky stuff like that.

Because every coach averages 10 wins a season... also the schedule allows him to win 12, the play on the field determines if he can or can't. You people need a reason to bitch, seems everyone has Bama envy....

I think you mean Auburn in 2006.

You think Les would let Cam open an OT series with a reverse to Xavier Carter?

Pretty much every head coach from junior high to the NFL practices this philosophy. Why would you run something in a game that you can't run against air?

Did the OP even read the rest of the article where Cam talks about how much more pass than run they have incorporated in practice, the willingness to adapt, the change in the offense prior to the bowl game that they have kept up, ect. Nope, he tried to key in on one quote to start this shitty thread.

Exactly. It's actually embarrassing that you have to ask this question and shows you the limited football knowledge of this fanbase.

I know you work for the LSU Athletic Department and that's fine that your job is to spin things positively ....

However, when football is running the ball up the middle on 3rd and 6, gaining two yards and punting every series we'll see if you can still manage the flood of negativity.

What? I have no connection to lsu other than graduating from there 6 years ago and growing up a fan of Lsu athletics.

It's just annoying that we have such terrible fans that literally look for ways to be negative.
