Do whatever you want with your money, I do. Just saying if it came down to rent and football you can bet your arse I would be watching at home.
thats what i had to do for the troy game because i didn't have the $20 in gas money to get to BR but i got ragged. im feel like complete shite for missing the game as well. money and work maybe legit excuses but i hate myself for having to miss a game.

nice. hell, I'll admit, I'm a bigger LSU hoops fan than football. Guess I'm fairweather.

You have more problems then fans leaving early, IMO

I left at halftime and I regret it. Sitting up in the upper deck, I was ill prepared for how cold it was going to be so I listened to the remainder on the radio at my house.
I think the players have a right to be upset with everyone. It wasn't close to full at the beginning and to the miserable pricks that booed, they can go fvck themselves.
I agree with Lafell and Herm and Colt. All are on point if you ask me. We need to be there on Saturday ready to support this team.
I will be there all game.

I don't know can you? I'm sure you've never left a game early then right? Get outta here man. If I put forth the effort to pay a lot of money for tickets and fill up my truck to drive to Baton Rouge only to have to drive back that evening and the players decide they don't want to play then I'm leavin. I couldn't care less about what you think about that. These kids have a chance of a lifetime to play for the tigers and possibly play nfl football. You have to be kidding me if you think I'm gonna feel bad about leaving early. The players should be apologizing to us for making us watch that sh*t. And I'm sure some poor tiger fan probably died of a heart attack saturday because he couldn't grasp the thought of losing to a sunbelt team. Team loyalty works both ways and it should start with the guys wearing the purple and gold helmets putting forth a valiant effort.
The "I left early cuz the team didnt show up" excuse is pathetic. Why is it pathetic? Because the same people would have left if LSU was up 31-3 claiming "i dont want to stay to see a boring blowout" So you are telling me you would have stayed for a blowout of Troy because the team showed up to play? Yeah right!! People can leave when they want because they pay for the tickets, but its those same fans that claim they go to every game and are the biggest fans that I have a problem with. They are probably the same fans that complain about ticket prices.

Maybe instead of booing, the fans at the game should start yelling at the coach's and not the players. How about "LET THEM PLAY"
"LET THEM PLAY"
"LET THEM PLAY"
I personally would rather see LSU get their collective asses beat with their hands untied rather than tied, as was with the first 2 and 1/4 quarters of the game.

I never called you fairweather. Stop crying and use your big-boy words. (That's what I try and tell my little girl). I said you had 1 legit excuse. Two if you nailed the girlfriend that was bitching.
I know you're a bigger basketball fan. I've seen your posts during B-ball season.

You sound like the kid that was always picked last in EVERYTHING in life and then bitches because life isn't fair. BTW, putting up 30 points in ONE frickING QTR isn't valiant enough for you? You have every right to leave whenever the hell you want to but you also earned the right to not be categorized as a "true fan." Get over yourself slapdick.
We're talking about playing troy state dumbas*. What you're saying doesn't even make sense. Who cares about the 30 points in the 4th. If they don't want to play for the first 2 and a half hours of the game then because I'm a fan I should stay? The only people who should stay are the students because most of them can walk back to their apartments and dorms and get hammered the rest of the evening. I stayed for all the games when I was there becuase I could. Not to mention I wasn't paying an arm and a leg for tickets. BTW, your mother picked me first. Where do you think you came from.

like it or not people are paying for a product and if that product looks like shite against inferior competition they have every right to leave
This loyalty stuff is laughable. does it work in reverse? If someone has a tough few months can they call LSU and only pay a fraction of the money they owe? I think they'd move along on the waiting list business as usual

Listen, I understand that within every crowd there will be a small subset of fans who really, legitimately need to leave early. No problem with those fans at all.
However, it strains common sense to argue that, coincidentally, on the night of November 15, 2008, 65,000 LSU fans simultaneously had (a) a job crisis; (b) a dying grandma; (c) a child who suddenly developed West Nile virus; (d) a religious epiphany that required them to immediately report to the nearest convent and/or abbey; (e) a call from the President requesting that they depart at 0900 hours for a covert operation in Afghanistan; (f) appendicitis; or (g) a pregnant wife who was giving birth.
The vast majority of those 65,000 fans are just indolent and lazy. That's the truth. The Tigers had lost the game to Alabama and so they were out of contention for the SEC championship. They didn't play well in the first half against Troy. And it was cold. So a bunch of lazy LSU fans decided that they would rather go home, sit in their easy chairs, shovel some Doritos into their mouths, pass gas, and go to bed early so that they could wake up bright and early the next morning...for some more lounging on the sofa.
It doesn't make them horrendous people, it just makes them lazy fans. How bad is it that the fanbase can't muster the energy to sit in one place for three hours, endure a mild chill, and yell? It's not like the fans are asked to run wind sprints or wage a war in Siberia. All they have to do is SIT and WATCH and occasionally YELL.
BTW, this isn't merely an issue that affects the LSU fan base. Sports fans (and humans) in general have become intolerably lazy. That's why we have a country full of obese pigs.

Like "Varsity Blues" when the team rebelled against the coach? Think the hook and lateral would work with a 400# center?

my prob with it is that lsu had a very loyal and faithful fanbase a few years ago and now we are spoiled. shite has gone bad fast for the fan base even after a frickin NC last year. the fan base is sucking so bad that its getting called out by the national media.
