I fear that with his absence and this puffcake OOC schedule, SEC play could become quite the feat.

Just curious Piggly...I'm gonna try to put 2 and 2 together...
Your name may suggest you are from Homer or near abouts...which is where the dr. is from. Are you him?

whoever thinks Alsup can come close to filling in, FAIL

This really sucks. I hope it doesn't nag him when he does get back.
Posted on 2/24/10 at 7:43 pm to SitchProdigy
I certainly don't think that.

I do. Alsup is a diamond in the rough.

if AR is out for an extended period of time, do you think Mainieri moves Ott to a weekend starter?

If Chad Jones were here, I'd say 100 percent yes to the Ott theory. I doubt it, though.

Ranaudo's going to rest that arm for 1-2 weeks, put no avoidable stress on it to get ready for Arkansas. We don't need him vs. William and Mary and Pepperdine, he needs to rest it.

Ranaudo is experiencing discomfort on the outside bone of his right elbow. Mainieri said the junior has undergone a series of tests and there doesn’t appear to be any structural damage.
he's a big guy, big guys generally are more prevalent to joint issues. let's hope by "tests" they have done an MRI and Xray to rule those out.

I am no doctor, but my guess would be he's a kid from NJ who was used to throwing about 60 innings per year and now he's here throwing twice that...I dunno.
No, he came to LSU with an elbow issue. Elbow soreness kept him out for most of his freshman year.

I wonder if this has anything to do with him not pitching all summer long, then being rushed right before the season started. I remember PM saying the pitchers were about 2 weeks behind schedule

I want to see Ross on Friday, Bourgeois on Saturday and Matulis on Sunday

It is possible they're being overly cautious this early in the season. But, it's obviously not good news.

I think you'll get your wish. Getting time for the other pitchers is not necessarily a bad thing, either.
I saw where Mainieri said he didn't think it was a long term problem. Three weeks at the most. Brought up his draft status and career. Probably just overly cautious.
