Congratulations.

It's a big accomplishment to go back and get a second degree.

He's a competitor and a winner, so I know he is going to have a lot of success in his new field.

I didn't know you could get into law school after having a drunk in public/dui. I like the guy and graduated high school with him; I know many programs wouldn't accept you on those charges. Or at least the ot and pt schools I have looked at.

Just an observation

He's pretty smart I think he'll pass the first if not second time. He'll have tony clayton to help him if needed

He will do fine on the bar. If you are competitive and do the work you pass the bar.

On the bar you are not so much graded against an answer key but against the other people taking the test.

If you work hard on learning the material and don't stress out on test day then you are fine.

Wrong. Having been on the team of graders for several years, I can assure you that the Bar exam is not graded as relative to the others. there are right answers and there are wrong answers, and every year there are profoundly wrong answers.

But let me add relative to the topic, it is much more difficult to return to school after having left. Mr. Gay's accomplishment here is noteworthy and it demonstrates substantive positive character. As for the question above about character and fitness due to a dui arrest in his past, the most important thing in dealing law school and bar communications is full disclosure. The Bar will evaluate the issue and make a decision. He should be alright.

Maybe u knew because u figured since he's black it couldn't have been from anywhere highly ranked ehh? World we live in, I'm sure your not the only one man. My uncle graduated from Columbia Law and he's black, start trying to alter your stereo type a little.

Last year Tulane graduated a literal convicted murderer ; I'm pretty sure a misdemeanor for being drunk in public wouldn't make adcomms bat an eye.

I'm surprised Gay didn't go to Hebert, I know they always make room for LSU athletes.

Not my intention. Law is one area that simply graduating from a school does not make you an attorney.

Happy to congratulate him when he passes the bar. That's it. My statement was not a personal attack.

Congrats to Gay. What a winner. College and NFL champ. Undergrad and post grad degrees. And, IIRC, he was hurt and somewhat dehydrated in SB44 , but he played through it.

(I really don't understand the need for any of y'all to interject something negative in this thread. I just don't get it.)

Pretty sure he was already in when that happened. Not sure it was a DUI though.

Loved me some Randell Gay ever since his freshmen year.

Yall remember the story, right? In the SECCG of Gay's freshmen year, facing a Tennessee team that's headed to the Natl Champ game after the formality of beating a 3 loss LSU team in the SECCG, the second half sees several LSU defensive backs leave the game due to injury. Gay's services are requested, knowing he'd burn a red shirt, and lose a year of eligibility. Saban gives him the choice. Gay chooses to play. Even winds up breaking up a pass in the end zone.

Great story. I liked it better when it starred Travis Daniels though.
