You need to understand Will Wade to know what he is looking for in a player and he hasn't been around long enough for any of us to know that. I have read every interview with him I can find and I believe he said that he wasn't going to kick anyone off of the team but that if he worked them hard enough he would find out who wanted to play.
Well something should be done by the end of the month. Not really fair to a player to strip him of a scholarship that late and expect him to find another. Of course the coach is usually the one that calls around and finds someone who wants him.
So look at two sides of the coin. Does Wade want to keep Hayward because he sees a lot of potential and thinks he can bring it out or does he think three more years Hayward is on scholarship that I could go out and give to a better player.

Greg Heiar (Sp?). He's one of the assistants. Previously coached at Wichita State under Greg Marshall.

either Patterson or Hayward

Patterson because he had a bad year
I disagree with you, I think Patterson is one of the most underrated players we have. Last season he didn't shoot well I agree, but he's better on defense than most fans realize and he brings veteran poise that Mays just doesn't have. When Patterson is running the point the offense has better tempo and flow, even with CJJ's complete lack of scheme.
Patterson has been a serviceable player for three years and has been able to contribute without scoring. Wade is a defense first guy, and I think Patterson will fit right in with his system. I'd say the writing is on the wall for Big E and if not Hayward is probably the next to go.

It has to be Elbert. Hayward is only a soph and still can be developed under the new staff.
Haywaard is an unknown factor. He showed moments of potential and in the right system could be a key contributor if he continues to progress. He could fill a role like Jermaine Williams or Terry Martin did in the past. Seems to have court savvy, just needs to be developed.

I think wade can use him a lot more effectively if he can just hit wide open 3's.
