That dude was lights out last year. Hopefully they have to throw him 5 innings against selu. But he'll ole Grahm would still pitch him against us. That Otto drove me nuts last year.

Starters:

Matt Canterino, Fr, 5-4, 3.94 ERA, .190 BAA
Zach Esquivel, So, 6-5, 3.62 ERA, .261 BAA
Willy Amador, Jr, 4-5, 5.43 ERA, .274 BAA

Key Relievers:

Glenn Otto, Jr, 3.97 ERA, .223 BAA (Preseason All-American, pitched VERY poorly early in season but has been better lately)
Dane Myers, Jr, 4.09 ERA, .250 BAA (Also is our 3B and 2nd best hitter)
Evan Kravetz, So, 4.72 ERA, .302 BAA (Would probably start a game if we play four or five)
Kendall Jefferies, So, 5.01 ERA, .274 BAA
Addison Moss, Fr, 6.45 ERA, .269 BAA
Other Guys, Various Ages, None Very Servicable
TBH, seems like no one on y'alls pitching staff is "very serviceable".

Definitely, not like the Rice of old.0

Rice has had a tale of two seasons.

quote:

Rice went 18-4 down the stretch and won the C-USA tourney

At mid season, many fans were calling for Coach Graham's head, lamenting that we haven't been to Omaha since 2008 and although 22 straight years of regionals had been nice, Rice has higher standards.

Sounds familiar.

Obviously different competition but that's essentially how it played out here, except that our rock bottom was 12 games above .500.

I'm no stat expert, but the BAA seems low for the ERA. What's his deal? Gives up a bunch of long balls?

That or he walks a lot of guys... Or both.

I remember really liking the way Proctor played last year in the Regionals. How's he played this year?

I would say Proctor isn't playing quite as well as he did last year.

He's only batting a touch above .300 whereas last year he was in the mid .330s.

His fielding percentage is also slightly lower this year, but I think that's largely influenced by us not having our 2B for the first 1/4 of the season so infield chemistry was off.

All said, he's still a good player, but perhaps not garnering the Anthony Rendon comparisons like last year.

Our best infielder is probably our 3B, Dane Myers. Swings the bat well and very athletic in the field.

Yeah that does appear to be correct based on this page: LINK

I don't even follow baseball recruiting to be honest.

At first, I thought you might be Walt.
But Walt would know DiCaprios shoe size from his first season of LL

One of the hottest teams in America. Was hoping they wouldn't end up here, but we did well with the other two teams in our draw.
