You claim you have been right about SR all year but that's a lie. First you said he wouldn't even start ! I said he would be a top 3 back in the SEC and you laughed

why do you assume I argued with you over these things?

I never favored any RB in the spring, and I surely dont remember having any discussion about Ridley's output this season. Most people had Richard Murphy starting, and I surely didnt like him.

You say this like once a week. Why dont you find where I said these things? You have me mixed with someone else.

Are you aware of his NFL draft grade?...didn't think so.

draft grades don't mean shite right now. Ask Ciron Black.

Wrong again my man!! btw, I've noticed you dropped your boy ford overnight like s hot potato and have become a Ware man now!!!

my 'boy' Ford? lol

FWIW, you type my name and "ford" into the search engine, it brings back 4 posts results.

you type in your name and "ridley" and there are 2 pages

Honest Question, who do you feel was the best RB on the field last night for LSU?

Ive watched Ridley since he was in 8th grade. He has physical limitations that will preclude him from ever being a starting TB in the NFL.

However, he is a smart, unselfish, hard-nosed back that will likely be drafted in the late rounds (5th-7th) and will probably make a team due to his versatility/special teams.

Reasons for leaving now include the fact he is a 4th year junior and the low number of talented tailbacks available for the draft this year. He will also be risking ANOTHER major injury by coming back and the prospect of getting even the same number of carries next year is slim due to underclass talent.

In short...if Stevan feels good about getting drafted in at least 5th round (a la C. Scott) he will probably go.

Great Tiger and best of luck in NFL!!

OK.Who are the starting NFL TB's that you watched from 8th grade up to form your opinion?

He should go. A running back, especially a power back, only has a few years in him.

been saying it all year, i wish he would go, let him get a smaller payday, weak RB class this year and i think we have two rb's better right now...

ford and ware are studs!!!!

The comment about 8th grade was only to illustrate that I know Stevan better than 99% of the posters on this board. I know many of his closest friends and his family.

At best, he will have a career similar to Hester if he can stay healthy...which would be great. I wouldn't be totally shocked if some team fell in love with his intangibles and took him in the 4th, but 5-7th more llikely.

Anyone who thinks he will be a starter at tailback in the NFL is just misguided.

But, there is a distinct chance that Ware could steal a lot of carries from Ridley next year and even look better than Ridley.

Agree, running backs have to know when it's time to go...it's quite possible that Richardson would pass Ingram next year if Ingram stayed.

Saints sure could have used SR today. If you think he isn't an NFL back you are wrong. And I am sure you and I will both be happy when you are proven wrong.

Wish I were wrong, but I'm not.

Julius Jones is more talented than Stevan. As is Pierre Thomas, and Chris Ivory.

Sure...take an NFL roster and decimate them with injuries and someone will have to carry the ball.

When Stevan goes in 2nd or 3rd round and/or carries the ball from the TB position for meaningful snaps because he beat out his competition for an NFL role I'll gladly come back and eat crow.

Being 3rd or 4th on depth chart and playing by default won't count.

I think he may as well jump b/c his stock won't be any higher next year if NFL is his top priority.

Honestly, I wouldn't be that disappointed if he left either. I think Ware is a better RB right now than Ridley.

Ware had a good game last night, but now he is the best RB on the team? Should I assume that Patrick Peterson does is a mediocre corner from one game as well? Is JJ a world-beater at QB because of last night? The LSU offense is a high-powered attack?

It would be asinine to draw those conclusions from one game, just as it would be asinine to say that Ware is better than Ridley after one game. Hell, the kid was ineligible and not practicing until Monday/Tuesday.

there is absolutely a place for him in the NFL.
It seems to me that a lot of people hear, "NFL running back," and think of Joe Addai, LT, Michael Bennett, Ronnie Brown, etc. There are lots of guys who are NFL running backs that don't get heard from very often but are still making nice livings playing football.

I don't think Ridley has shown anything remotely close to indicating he has no chance of making a career out of playing in the NFL. By the same token, it seems entirely rational to expect that he won't be a star, or necessarily even a starter.

I'm just not sure people in this thread are talking about the same thing.
