Why do you insist on calling the dirt spot 'goo'? Is that your way trying to save face?

I haven't got an arm like yours; I have to put anything on it I can find. Someday you will too.

Because it is a black spot of goo until the umpire inspects it.
Did Coach Riser argue with the umpires after they checked the hat? Did Coach Riser demand and ejection? Seems to me that he asked for the umpire to take a look at the hat and they did. Since no one has argued different I guess we all agree that the SELU coach was doing his job by asking the umpires to check it out.

Here is why you are an idiot. They weren't checking the "goo" spot on the top of his hat. The ump, Riser, and everyone in the world knows that is dirt and no pitcher would be stupid enough to put an illegal substance on the top of his hat.

They were checking the inside of his hat. Riser directly called Reynolds a cheater who was trying to hide a substance.

It wasn't black or goo.

You think anyone would?

Are you expecting people to argue what Riser did or didn't do?

PM said this is the first time he's EVER seen a college coach request that. So you think Riser is just a trend starter huh???? It was a classless move. He got less than he deserved.

Perhaps.

I have no problem with a coach fighting for his team. If he thinks there is a chance for a foreign substance to be on an opponent's pitcher's hat, he has every right to ask that it be inspected. To the best of my knowledge the coach asked, and when the umpires said it was good it was left at that.

Except the part where you just called a college athlete a cheater in front of thousands of people after he struck out your player.......there's a reason this is rare dumbass, bc its classless....

Well since this happened last night, you can stop calling it "a spot of goo" in this thread and say "dirt". As in, "Riser saw the DIRT on Reynolds hat, and thought it was goo."

I'm not saying you are wrong necessarily but there shouldn't be a problem with Reynolds response either.....I mean the guy questioned his character in front of thousands of people (+ TV watchers)

if I was the pitcher, I'd actually laugh at it. Ump comes out, finds nothing. I'd take it as a compliment that the opposing coach thought I was pitching so well that he had to think I was cheating. I wouldn't get too worked up about someone "questioning my character." Pitchers have been accused of (and some have been caught) using foreign substances for 100 years. Just shrug it off and keep pitching.

There isn't a person on here who can explain to me how checking a hat for foreign substance is bush league. You want someone to cheat against you? What if he was? Then it's magically not bush league anymore? Get the frick out of here. He's doing his job.
Like I said in the game thread, the umpire doesn't just check a hat because the coach told him. He also has to see something suspicious after being told.

Then why don't we see it happen in almost every game? Every college baseball player has dirt on his hat. They don't get new hats every game.

Riser's team was lethargic and the game was slipping away, so he accused a college kid of cheating to fire his players up.

THAT is bush league whether you agree it is or not....

BTW....8-2.

K. Lets say you're in high school, sitting in class. Suddenly school officials come in and start searching your bag for drugs, weapon, who knows...... They were tipped off by the teacher that you MUST have been carrying smthg to go to this measure....
So here you are, in class with your peers and everybody's watching you get searched, and thinking "wow whats he done?" But you haven't done anything. But still you've been accused of it in front of everyone. Would you be pissed off???Even though the teacher 'had a right to do it'.......???

Reynolds just had the balls to call him out on it. Accept it, total dick move byRiser
