I don't see why "pocketing the house stipend money" is so bad.

When you get grants, scholarships, financial aid, etc for going to school as a reg student, you basically spend the money on whatever you want. The NCAA sucks arse!!

Lulz. that's not what hes suspended for
i know that. read the thread. IF they are talking 6 games, that is why I think the NCAA would make him sit.

he shouldn't get suspended for any of that. He was living with his girlfriend. So if he lived in a homeless shelter and didn't have to pay he would get suspended?

his suspension isnt for living with his girlfriend. Get a clue at least.

on another note, the NCAA does not like their trust compromised. They brought the wood to Dez Bryant last year for lying to them, and this is basically the same type of instance.

Shep alerted Trovon Randle about the type of interrogation he was going to be subjected to regarding questioning about Willie Lyles and his involvement with college football players.

really? it's the equivalent of stealing. he was given a monthly stipend of money for off-campus rent as part of his scholarship. as the allegation goes, he lived with his girlfriend and pocketed that money that was intended to pay rent.

i could see the NCAA having a really big problem with that Pandora's box.

too bad he was cleared of wrong doing and isn't in trouble for that any more. his suspension is related to him talking about the questions he was asked during his investigation. meanwhile, miami players get the SAME penalty for receiving improper benefits.

suspend Shep for a few games. fine. 6 games? that's ridiculous. that, or the miami players should permanently lose their eligibility.

I don't believe that especially since I thought that was getting taken care of. It shouldn't be a big deal.

why? You do know how grant, unemployment, ssi and every other org distributes their money right?

6 games sounds like this is also addressing the alleged pocketing of housing stipend money

every d1 athlete pockets there housing stipend or spends it on booze and condoms

I know D1 athletes, formerly, and currently, that do that.

If there parents can afford the rent, then why can't they cash out and spend the stipend on things for the home and utilities?

talking about, or prepping someone else for his own interview (after being told not to)? and if he prepped him, what'd he prep him on? something that could obstruct/ undermine the investigation?

not saying that's what happened, but until the NCAA has investigated, neither can they.

Jacory Harris got benefits from a booster. He's suspended for 1 game and has to pay back what he got. Shep talked about an investigation. :omg: we must revoke his eligibility for life!!!!!!!!
