I'm confused how the ncaa can take away someone's constitutional right to free speech. If he wants to talk to someone about whatever he should be able to do so. That's crazy. I thought the same thing of the Dez Bryant deal a while back. The ncaa is communism at its best.

believe what you want. He may have talked to Loston to, but he definitely spoke to Travon Randle.

LE, what do you think they were conversing on? I hope shepard is not connected to lyles. when i first heard about lyles, i thought of shepard, and i don't think anyone else thought that.

shepard should have gotten his father to talk to lyles without shepard konwing about it.
that's the ncaa way.

James, Thomas, Shepard & Loston are from Houston?
If Lyles is Claiming that he's the reason they commited to OU and LSU than thats Just retarded.
Everyone Knew how good these players were coming outta HS.

FWIW, whenever NFL Draftniks start ranking/describing Shep as a prospect, they will list his measurables and his WR pros & cons...
...but they will wrongly group this Shep suspension into the "off-the-field character issue" category (just like a scouts recently did with Terrelle Pryor & Dez Bryant).
There's a difference between real character concerns (like pistol whippers, brawlers, & drug dealers) vs guys that simply say something that they shouldn't.
Unfortunately, the Mel Kipers of the world will just see the word "suspension" and negatively downgrade Shep because of their lack of research.

The idea that no player ever talks to his team, his friends and his FAMILY, about his interview with the NCAA is absurd. Yet somehow Shep is being singled out, and for as much as 6 games? Out of control.
