Many people think he retired last year but that is not true, he just was not signed on with any club
I googled and everything i see says he is just retiring. Wouldnt have been known unless you knew him personally

Shame how shitty BHS baseball team is now. We used to have some good teams in the late 90's. Hard to believe we didn't win state in 98 or 99.
Good for him though. I still run into his older brother a lot. Good guys.

The Cardinal's wanted him back, but he said he'd accomplished a lot and made enough money to support his family. He could have signed...He just wanted to spend more time with his family instead.

Looks like Ryan too...

Yeah I think he had told the Cardinals that he was only going to sign for a spot in the everyday lineup. If he was goin to be a reserve he'd rather spend time with his family.

Wes was always more naturally talented on a baseball field. But Ryan worked his arse off. I never dreamed he would be pro, but hard work paid off for him.

Yeah Wes was a beast. You're right about Ryan. We would all leave baseball practice and him and his dad would stay and hit in the cages till dark.

Ole Coach Hill used to say Wes was the best hitter to ever play at BHS.

Team was loaded, that was a year before I got there

Yeah. Baffles me we didn't win that year. Mike Woods is still the best athlete I've ever played with or against, dude would come out to basketball practice and bs with us and dunk and drop 3's. Didn't want to miss football or baseball time though.

Of all the great college players LSU has put out, Theriot has probably had the best pro career. Hard to believe.

Todd Walker did alright. Paul Byrd is another. Theriot didn't put up great numbers, but he was an integral part of two world series teams.

But a poster or a placard or something would be nice.
I AGREE WITH THIS

I think i'd take Theriot's career over those others. Byrd made an all star game, but Theriot won 2 Worlds series, and played for some cool teams-Cubs, Dodgers, Cardinals, and Giants.

I remember many years back took my son to a Cubs game and he had his signed LSU hat on and you wouldn't believe how nice we were treated. People keep asking us if we were from Louisiana and how they loved Theriot and Fontenot. The Cubs were down like 5-0 in the 4th and came back and won it 9-6 or something like that. Riot has a good game too, may have hit a homer not sure but I know he got some RBI's.
