overall records are misleading.
We play 3-4 cupcakes every year. Also add 2-3 weaker SEC teams.
That means we have about 6 "real" games every year against the better teams.
Those games are our season, and defines our success.

At the end of the season, you would expect the following;
Coach Miles is no longer able to deliver on that solid list of what a well-coached football team must have mastered by this point in the season. I mean that, not just for 2015, but, for the rest of his time in coaching.

He is widely considered our Bobby Bowden despite Bowden having a slightly better overall resume.
uh, no.
Bowden had FSU at a dominant level for many, many years. Ranked in the top 5 at the end of the season for 14 straight years, I believe.
I'll agree that Les is like Bowden in that there was a significant decline the last few years. FSU finally made a change, and look how it worked out.

It's happened before and hasn't been long ago asshat.
How long has lord Saban been at LSU and Alabama? How many titles does he have? Saban was not a proven commodity when he came to LSU. 9 SEC west, 5 SEC, & 4 NC.
Spurrier wasn't proven before he went to UF. What did he accomplish there? Not to much other than turning them into arguably the best SEC team of the 90's. 7 SEC east titles, 6 SEC, and 1 NC in 10 seasons. His college head coaching resume before that was 3 seasons at Duke.

I have been a tiger fan for a long time, this shows the world LSU has lost any class that it had. LSU don't deserve a man of Les class and winning ability.

LSU should look to Iowa. Last year their fans called for Ferentz (sp) head on a stock. What have they done this year?
As an Auburn fan I will be glad to see Les go. He has our #

Yeah let's look to Iowa: this is their first 9+ win season since 2009.
Since Ferentz got to Iowa in 1999, they've won 10 games 5 times.
They've been to 1 BCS bowl game (the Orange bowl) with the best team they've ever had in that stretch.

Well said, most LSU fans drink to much and think they know a whole lot more about football than they actually do.

Maybe SVP is Les's in at ESPN. Maybe, just MAYBE I'd start watching college gameday. Les would be the PERFECT new face on the gameday crew to shake it up and give it a new rebirth.

The problem, and what we are planning for Van Pelt, you idiot, is the NEXT TEN YEARS, not the last ten.
He knows this and yet still spouts this bullshite.

For a man to has made 50 MILLION in just over 10 years at the hands of LSU and its fans you would think Miles would say I've had a great run but I'm 62? and maybe I should retire, be satisfied, take I/2 of the 15 MILLION and be grateful and help save the 2016 recruits and stay in the perpetual memories of LSU and fans? Look at the example of Skip Bertman for guidance who is still cherished by LSU fans.
I would hope Les does the above and show us his humanity and love for LSU like he did with LSU's greatest fan, Sid Ortis.
The ball is in your court Les if you do the right thing you will be thought of as one of LSU's greatest coaches. If you do the stubborn, greedy thing and refuse to reason in the best interests of LSU which you claim you love so much you will forever be thought of as just another money grubbing Saban but who eats grass and claps spastically.
Its a moral and sincerity choice you must make but the fans having seen your stubborn side remain doubtful that you will do the right thing but you have a chance to prove the fans wrong.

Your logic is flawed.
Miles is being bought out because there is a sense of underachievement based on his(and staff) recruiting prowess and the amount of NFL guys from LSU.
a top 5 class but rarely in the top 5 finishing-underachievement.
but a guy (and staff) who can't bring the guys Miles can will lower the ceiling of LSU.
Jimmy and Joes > X's and O's in college football.

The next coach very likely won't be as successful as Les. He likely won't win a national championship.
I'd also bet that if Les takes another job he will never come close to his record at LSU.
Much of Les' great record is because he inherited a national championship type team. If he had to start with what Hallman or Dinardo left, his legacy probably would be closer to Hallman's and Dinardo's. He has the same stubborn attitude as Dinardo.

That whole post is fricking stupid. "Do the right thing" and retire? Don't be greedy? What a dumb arse post..

no...he inherited a 9-3 team that lost to Iowa in the bowl game. he then took that same team to the SECCG during a national disaster

check that 2000 roster that Dinardo left. this thinking that Saban walking into a bare cupboard is a myth and revisionist history

But mad fans who are spoiled rotten are far from unique to Columbus, Ohio. LSU's power brokers are reportedly done with Les Miles. It's gonna cost them $15 million to buy him out before the end of the year, and the boosters there don't even blink. Just cut the check and find us somebody who can beat Saban.. cuz there's a lot of those right? Les has become something of a friend and I say that before I say this: I'll bet you money that whoever's next at LSU doesn't survive 11 years and doesn't go 110-32. I'll take the under on both of those for the limit
Maybe the best coach won't got 110-32 over the next 11 years, but he doesn't have to.
You would hire a new coach because he will win more games than Miles would over the next 5+ years, not the previous 11
