I have all the LSU stats back to 1957 and many years dating all the way back to 1937
So tigger1, can you please tell me how many plays Butch Duhe played in the 1969 LSU-Ole Miss game? Thanks in advance...

This post is the perfect example of why no thread should go beyond 10 posts. It turns into a bitching contest, insults and when it gets to the end, rarely resembles the original post.
+1
(with the exception of game threads)

chatuey,
I don't have the play by play of the game, but I can tell you he missed the first fg attempt of the game.
LSU took the opening kickoff and marched it down the field to the Ole Miss 29 yard line and Duhe came in to try the fg.
That miss is one of the reasons Ole Miss won the game verus a tie, as in the closing minutes of the game LSU had the ball on the Ole Miss 23 and Mac went for the win on forth and eight, Hillman's pass to Andy was broke up by Fred (some reports say Cannon).
Had Mac also used Lumpkin on both fg attempts LSU would have tied or wow.
Both teams missed one FG, near all of Ole Miss' yardage came on 5 drives.....
Those drives were pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass..Archie run.
The missed fg by Ole Miss came of an intercept by Cannon (Billy's cousin) off a Hillman pass at the Ole Miss 49 yard line. From there it was pass, pass, Bo run, etc to the LSU 27 where Hinton missed the FG.
The first TD drive was 4 passes to Poole, then the Archie run for the TD.
The second was 6 pass to Franks and Poole from 8-14 yard each, before hitting Studdard for the TD.
The third drive was 3-5 passing and one Manning run for 7 yards, then a one yard run for the TD.
The forth drive was set up by Hillman's fumble on the LSU 22, and it took a pass to Franks, and Bowen to get it to the one, where Archie ran it in again.
90% of Ole Miss' yardage came on those drives, and LSU secondary was getting eat up by Franks and Poole.

Stokley best qb least natural ability teammates
believed in him.
Hillman worst but had the most talent. He was not a team player. He personally lost the Ole
Miss game in 1969.
