LSU has what 2/3 former defensive lineman that have switched to offensive line? May be more or less but I am to lazy to look it up right now. I want LSU to recruit some highly rated offensive lineman, kids who have played the position through high school and know what they are doing.
I do not follow recruiting so I have no clue how many kids LSU may or may not have missed out on.

Yeah I did the stars for LSU/Florida/Alabama other day and you could see that LSU is just as talented as those teams.

Ditto.

What is happening to the offensive line is mystifying. I can't figure it out.

There are lots of things that I could question but no point because I have no pull in athletic department.

True.....

If you have a good offensive line, you can work around an inadequate QB. If you have a very good Q and a couple of playmakers, you can work around an iffy offensive line. LSU is in a position this year where either the QB, the offensive line ..or hell..both step up and make some things happen.

Dramatic improvement in one of those two areas...and they could surprise a few people.

I think LSU improves from 112th offense, I do not think they reach Top 20 or 30 like some are predicting. I think they finish in that 50-65 range honestly. I do think that the defense drops off a bit and allows a few more scores this year thus evening things out and you see a record similar to last year.

I am not reading the whole thread, but I just want to say I lost all hope in Crowton when I read an article that was posted on here last year about him. It was a blog, but the guy basically predicted that in year three GC\'s offense would be horrible and his prediction was backed up with the fact that everywhere GC went, his offense got worse from year to year. Basically, his offenses peaked in year one and then fell like Dow Jones in October 2008.

Think the total defense improves, but the scoring D drops somewhat as the defense gets more aggressive. Offense, yeah....probably finishes top 60-70 without dramatic improvements..

Not long, a couple weeks. I don't care much for the NFL, but Sept thru Jan is my favorite time of year for many reasons, college football being one of the main reasons. I usually only make it down for one game a year, so this is my main contact with other LSU/football fans.

I like them both, just depends, I mean college is better because it has more passion but I can watch the NFL.
Football is football, however I am a baseball person first

I think aslong as we have some kind of pass rush, which we didnt have at all last year, it sets the rest of the defense up pretty nicely.

Everyone says our secondary is badass, but with no pass rush, that doesnt help them at all, they cant cover forever.

I just hope Downs is healthy, I think that guy could be a stud.

This appears to be a dumb thread. We are scrimmaging ourselves. Let's think of the outcomes based off of the statistics.

A. Offense gains 500 yards total yards then the defense must suck or the offense is great.

B. Offense gains 200 yards then the offense must suck or the defense is great.

C. They end up playing each other even then they both suck or are both great.

It is so stupid to judge by what appears to have been given.

What people need to understand is it was a situational scrimmage. The offense was set up in certain situations, for example, 3rd and 6, and a pass play was called. But, there was "urgency" to get the 6 yards for a first down. It wasn't like OK let's kickoff, let PP return it, and start from there. The offense and defense were both set up in certain situations, and asked to do certain things. This makes the stats not so appealing to some, but this is not the time to start worrying guys. Just like many have stated about the pick 6, our D, knowing how our offense functions, probably knew what was coming a good bit of the time. Let's wait, and start passing judgment when the boys play a full scrimmage.
