Yes, there's no question.

One of the best LSU basketball players of all time.

He was absolutely electric.

I mean I never said his number shouldn’t be retired, or he should be banned from LSU. I responded to a guy saying his logic doesn’t make sense. I wouldn’t be opposed to the jersey being retired, the only thing is he was only here for 2 years and I just don’t see LSU doing it.

No.

Pete was placed on probation by LSU and later expelled by LSU.

The rule, as I understand it, is that you need to either graduate or play through your senior year. Shaq played 3 but graduated, Pete played through senior year but did not graduate (I don't think).

I thought the rule was that you either had to graduate or die.

And Pete's case, I believe the Assemblyy Center was named after him and his jersey was retired after his death.

ETA: I got the campus shortly before he died. Pretty much everyone I knew referred to the Assembly Center as Pete's Palace. I remember hearing someone say that they couldn't officially name it after him because he hadn't graduated. As I recall, they renamed it the Pete Maravich Assembly Center not too long after his death.

No.
I have no problem with his religion or his name change.
And major props to him for overcoming his physical problems.
But as a retired vet, I say let him stand for the National Anthem before he gets my vote. The total package must be judged before putting someone up on the wall. There is an effect when you decide to make a stand & one has to live with it.
And for those who think he was the second best basketball player out of LSU, do you put him in front of Petit or Shaq,
because Jackson was good.....very good, but he damn well didn't beat Pete.

Think why a persons jersey is hung for all to see... not only because they are great players, but someone to pattern your life around, such as LSU graduate, community service and a model citizen....If great player is all that is needed then "Cecil the Diesel" should be considered.

Look at American history. We slaughtered almost an entire race of people to form the country. Then enslaved another. Maybe he had a point. You don’t have to like it but his point is somewhat valid.

He’s the reason I fell in love with the sport, and I never melted over the anthem thing, but I think the only people who belong up there are alumni and people the building is named after.

Basically entire human history, not just the United States. And his religion, is the biggest oppressors in modern day. So to me, it doesn't really make sense at all.

You can feel that way about the US, bit when you preach a religion that still enslaves people and kills people for being diff. Your point is no longer valid.

Yeah. Makes sense that people have the same views from 200-500 years ago.

Chris Jackson? No
Ricky Blanton? If that’s the threshold we’ll have 300 retired jersies.
