We can't in one hand say that Crowton gave us our greatest offense in 2007 (with Flynn -who had a sum total of 1 start till then) and on the other say that he sucks - I mean that is a logical non sequitur.
I am saying that maybe we are having a bad luck of QBs who need more time in the system to become great and realize their potential. So maybe next year JJ carries us to the promised land - it doesn't always have to be on the coaches (though there might be other issues that they can be faulted with)

You have lost your credibility on the QB topic ever since you said Tebow won the NC when he was a sophomore.

How do you guys know it is the coaches. Maybe they beat him over the head about the right things to do every day and come game time he goes brain dead. Maybe he just does not get it. Just because a player fails does not mean the coaches are not coaching him.
The kid ran the spread offense to perfection and was undefeated his entire high school career. The coaches are asking him to do things he's NEVER done. That's not on the kid man, that's the coaches.

I feel bad for the guy honestly. I think hes just so afraid that one of his mistakes is going to lose the game. He's 19 years old and doesnt want to be THAT guy getting blasted ESPN.
However, if you're the starting QB it comes with the territory. Gotta man up and have confidence, cant play "not to lose" all the time.
You could see at the end of the game when we were down, he was making throws with confidence because he had nothing to lose.

Not really, since that is Crowton's trend through his career. He inherited a veteran team and Flynn was a senior.

Maybe, but two touted QBs in a row that dont progress as the season goes on? Points to lack of coaching to me. We need a QB coach.

First off I didn't start this topic and sorry I was off a year on Tebow. We can't all be as big of a looser as you and post on TD over 20,000 times. Get a frickin life.

so you think he just walked in and continued running Jimbo Fisher's system? without Jimbo Fisher calling the plays?

RP didn't get any better either?
lee was a RS Freshmen that played one and a half years of HS football and showed HORRIFIC QB mechanics and decision making skills
JJ was a HS QB that played on a HS team surrounded by Div 1 recruits and all he had to do was his Steve MacNair impersonation to win games. Then he comes to LSU and gets thrown into the deep end of the pool with the season going down the drain and he did a credible job.
Now he is a Sophomore learning on the job as the QB of the #10 ranked team in the country and you don't think he is getting better because he flamed out against the #1 team in the country with the #1 defense and 4 NFL First round draft picks on their top 11?
yeah OK
and Crowton is the QB coach

But someone in another thread has actually shown proper facts/stats about Crowton improving his QBs and Flynn learned from him too. So why is JJ and co not able to do so?
Please refer to my post. Raw talent, and that is as far as this kid is able to go. End of story.

perhaps because we ran a different system with different personnel back then?

Harris the qb from Miami is the same age and int he same class. He has not struggled, he looks like a stud.
Is he also being met in the backfield by the defensive end, at the end of his seven step drops?
Again....................until we get the OL fixed, it's not gonna matter much who we put back there.

No shite but the kid knows how to play football. He is being asked to run an offense that he has never run before. That would be tough for anyone.

Ranters,
In JJ's defense, the wide-receivers didn't help the situation either. There were several drops in the game that could have moved the chains for us and kept the drives alive. TT dropped a few passes thrown in his direction. Also, the TH drop could have gone for a great gain. I just think that you can't place blame on one individual player. The entire offensive unit needs to keep the mistakes to a minimum. Believe it or not, we were still very much in this game and close to possibly even taking the lead. We just need to get better. I have faith that these issues will be ironed out come Auburn.
