What about Florida players? Auburn? aTm? Ole Miss?

Why the obsession with Bama?

Because they’ve won our division five of the last seven years and are arguably our biggest recruiting competitor?

Also I don’t think we want to try and mimic the Ole Miss compliance department.

I don’t want LSU to do anything that puts us at a disadvantage vs. any of those teams, but I don’t get this “why are you obsessed?” argument when it comes to Bama.

Because you wouldn't potentially be taking any performance enhancing drugs.

Why are we randomly drug testing players at all?

Is there an NCAA or SEC mandate?

Yes

is it even legal?

Yes. Essentially the SEC and the NCAA are LSU's Employers and they can choose to implement drug testing however they see fit. Just like any employer.

Why are the football players different?

Because they choose to play for the school and doing so they agree to the drug testing imposed by the NCAA/SEC

it sucks but just dont do drugs

Okay, so who's been suspended? I haven't seen any news on a.that someone has been suspended for failing a drug test, and b.who that player or players might be.

So does this make the players.... employees?

Nope because they voluntarily signed up to participate for the "employees" ...the school.

But i do like where your mind is going about player payments lol

LSU has a player that is supposedly suspended for breaking rules.

Answer

Lets change the entire NCAA rule book for this 1 guy and lets get an attorney and sue.

Lets dont blame the player lets blame LSU and the NCAA.

I get the gist of your statement but this is not accurate.

LSU and other schools are members of the SEC and NCAA not employed by the conference or NCAA. As members the schools have agreed to abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the conference and NCAA.

Could it be that it really isn't weed that is being reported? Recruits probably know that? Everyone is on the level in billion dollar businesses, mind you.

Each memeber school is required to have their own program.

but why do we seem to go above and beyond what every other program. You just don't see these kind of drug suspensions at other schools like you do at LSU. You can't tell me that the players at Florida and Alabama are less weed heads or drug users than our players are. We f'ing our own selves over and it certainly is not a bonus when it comes to recruiting. Why are we creating these kinds of obstacles for our program?

I have a friend who played at a large university. He said when they tested, it was randomly the same 5 or so people nearly every time. Not bc they knew they smoked, they knew those 5 did not smoke.

that's the way other schools do it. They try to help their players pass, either through ample warning or as you state above, while we seem to try to nail our players. I really thought this would change once Alieva was gone but it seems to be the same ole shite.
