There were WR's running free wide open.
That's the shame of all of this.

I dunno man, remember Saban's last game? Couldn't move the ball for shite with Randall in, finally puts in Russell who scores on two consecutive drives but we run out of time? (at least that's how I remember the game)
I was still super pissed he waited that long and it didn't make it any better so mid 4th would have been too late for me. I would have preferred (like most) after Jefferson basically handed off the ball to bamalandteam (call it an Int if you will.) Specifically because of how he turned on Ware for that b$hit.
By mid 4th it was too late IMO for him to redeem himself.

This board is crazy to begin with but reliving the what ifs and all this stuff is ridiculous.
Move on already.
Not everyone is over the "grief" cased by the game. It will pass in a few weeks. Honestly, if some folks dislike discussing it than a board called "the rant" is probably not a good place to go right now.

it was an NC game.
There is not tomorrow. If we were to lose, I would ave wanted every soldier in the fight, every bullet in the arsenal fired...then,
if we lose, we lose.
But the idea of surrendering and giving up does not fly with me.
Our name / Our spirit came from the soldiers fighting in the Civil War, so for someone to surrender and quit as Miles did is unforgivable.

It wasn't a knock at you.
All this "reliving" the game and the what ifs, coulda, woulda, shoulda stuff is psychotic. We lost. You can yell and scream about the game until you pass out but in the end, it changes nothing about what happened.
Right when people start to get over the game, chill, move on, get back to being Tiger fans, somebody has to start a thread like this and it stirs up the hornets nest of fans that were starting to get past the game.

I have moved on. I was over it about the next day. I did hear all the rumors that were going around and I said there was no way either. What I heard this past Monday totally changed my view. It happened and its over I agree.

I would have inserted Lee in the second and if that didn't work I would have inserted Mett in the 3rd. But hey, I wanted to win.
Seems so logical looking back on everything. Granted, of course, looking back Leslie would have done the same thing as well.

It's not that I mind discussing it, the fact that it's been discussed, ad nauseam, is what's crazy.
It's been a week and a half.

Without a doubt...YES..YES..YES !!!!!!!

If we lose, we lose... Unless, of course, it's a close game. In which case, at least we could find some way to blame it on the refs like bama did earlier this year.

You have got to be kidding!!! He would have been criticzed for that also. Tom Brady would not have won that game for us!!!!

And it's been just a little more than 24 hours since Mile$ held his press conference to talk about the game.
The OP wasn't a flame. If you don't like the OP's post, ignore him or debate him or yell at him like so many do here. But constantly badgering people to stop posting when you don't like their posts is... well, I can think of several words that fit here.
You may be the Birdman but you're not THE Chicken - it's not for you to decide what should and shouldn't be discussed here.

Oh geez.... I never claimed to be.
I was simply trying to point out that it's been a week and a half since the game. There should be some moving on at this point.
That's all I was trying to do.
Who am I to say who can post what? I never said I was deciding what should be posted here.

Good thread. Definitely yes.
The "stop beating a dead horse" crowd doesn't understand--THE HORSE IS NOT DEAD!
IF JL had come in and stunk it up further, then we'd be able to say we gave it our best shot and couldn't measure up. The fact that his number wasn't called by Les means that question is forever unanswered. And yes that game is over--but that's not what the continuing anguish is about.
Les's weak press conference Friday did little to kill the horse. He said he'd call a different game, and has given grudging lip service to an increased role for the passing game, but we all know his style is to only pass enough to open up the run. As long as he's winning that's ok, but if he loses then he will be rightly criticized for not planning a more balanced attack.
No, the horse is not even close to dead. It is in the pasture and grazing, hoping that you sunshine pumpers forget about it and start rah-rahing for next season. What will you be saying if Les does this again?
You see, it's not about the NCG--its about the future of the program. We have entrusted it to someone who was unable to see that a change needed to be made, or saw it and refused out of stubbornness. BOTH are bad omens for our future. And you better believe Mr. and Mrs. Keil recognized it, and so do several other recruits and their families.
Despite what you may think from this post, I'm a huge Les supporter. I think he is one of the 3 or 4 best college coaches in the game, and capable of beating any coach and any team when he puts his mind to it. He represents the program well and makes me proud. BUT if he doesn't learn from his mistakes in this game then we're doomed to repeat them again.
Many of the fans, myself included, aren't too sure we want to get as invested in "next year" as we were this year, when it seems likely that our coach will crawl into a shell at an inopportune moment. Yes, we're loyal LSU fans, but we also see things for what they are.

Depends on how much success he would have had. If he came in, played well, moved the ball but we still lost, we'd be saying that Les should have put him in sooner. If he came in and had about as much success as Jefferswag, then we'd say well at least we tried.

So, if Miles had played Lee.
LET IT frickING GEAUX....how about if the O-Line blocked?
LOL when the defense knows for sure you will not pass , there is no blocking , JJ they knew he could not pass. That is a fact . He did really looked good on the shovel pass didn't he ?? Now J Lee may have been able to open up the run , and score , and we may have still lost , but the team would have had a chance . JJ looked bad , but i would like to see him with Saints . How about you ?? That would be a few more years of JJ
Posted on 1/18/12 at 5:35 pm to tigerfan63
The Miles haters would have bitched about something else.

We would feel a lot better about Miles' decision making and be in a much better position to accept the loss.

I find it funny as hell that the JJ dickriders want everyone to move on. Yet we were pounded for a month, ad nauseum about how we will miss JJ, how wrong he had been treated, how much Krags had improved him, etc
We wanted to move on then, but you didn't. So just deal with it now. You got your way. Reap the whirlwind
