I love it and think we should also have the tiger emblem on the pant hips or high on one side of the pant front.

I think they should know better. Anytime you tinker with the football jersey, there will be an absolute shitstorm. This thing might fly somewhere that doesn't value tradition as much as Louisiana. But it's not a very wise marketing decision in some respects.
In my personal opinion, it's not so bad. But I also do not ever want to see Toonces sneak his way onto the jersey, and this could be the start of it. I've got to think that someone decides it's a good idea to "make the fonts match" and goes for the switch...

Yes, it is little... but to what end? What happens if we replace the classic tiger head on the helmets with our 'updated new logo'.
What happens when, in order to keep up with the latest fashion trends, we roll out with purple pants again? Or with new school piping all over the place? The wordmark under the collar isn't really that big of a deal. The Gators have always had the 'Gator' logo on the chest, even Auburn has the wordmark under the collar. So yes, it really isn't all that big of a deal. I just don't want to see this become the beginning of a sickening change in LSUs tradition, that I as an alum, value so much.

yeah, adding the tiger eye on the pants or something like that would be fine, but adding a small "lsu" above our numbers just looks poorly done and looks like something that doesn't need to be there

The Tiger Eye should be used only on the field. FWIW I think it looks terrible on shirts, hats, etc.

i love these posts. people going crazy over a little branding, which is small and no where near tacky. tradition, blah blah blah. i wish someone would put together a retrospective of all the lsu unis over the last 30 years, so we can see how much they are tinkered with every year.

Dude its the same jersey it has always been. The only real differences haven't been asthetics, but just the shape of jerseys to allow players breathability, and so on (ie cuffs, sleeves, and how it effects shoulder stripes). The reason no team has shoulder stripes that go all the way around anymore is because of the arms.
This is significant because it marks the first time the 'geaux font' and new LSU branding has ever been used on an LSU football uniform.
