My .02......
I thought Gorsuch pitched a good game. She is dependable enough to where you can start her and not have to worry about her loading up the bases with walks.
There has to be a way to get Antoine and Weinberger in the game at the same time. Since Antoine can play second base, put her there, leave Claire in right field.
When Springfield is back, Beth will have a dilemma on her hands.
My lineup....
Andrews LF
Antoine 2B
Doyle 3B
Sunseri DP
Springfield 1B
Weinberger RF
Schlatmann C
Serrett SS
Griggs CF
I'd work Goff in there at times.

People gave Constance Quinn a tough time but she was definitely a thousand times more productive at 2B at the plate

I really liked Quinn and knew she was going to start regardless. She got some significant hits but Nicky is a true.350 hiiter and the offensive leaning coach would have started Nicky IMO.

Torina will never bench Sanchez...
But I like your lineup.
its LSU's best offensive lineup for sure
I just don't understand how Antoine can't play consistently without receiving the hook despite batting over .300

I’ll give this thing a try:
I would like to really see Kara Goff in the lineup. Her swing is nice and compact, so that should allow her to make a lot of contact (which we struggle to do). She’s the daughter of a coach so I feel like she would have a plan going up there everytime. It’s hilarious that the one position we are splitting (RF) is giving us production while other positions don’t produce, but are “set in stone”. I too want to see Antoine and Weinberger in the lineup together. And lastly, I’m a fan of Sunseri just cause I like the way she can make contact.
Lineup:
1.) Andrews LF
2.) Griggs CF
3.) Doyle 3B
4.) Schlattman or Springfield C
5.) Sunseri 1B
6.) Goff 2B
7.) Serrett SS
8.) Weinberger DP
9.) Antoine RF
I know Springfield isn’t the best catcher yet, but she can give us power. I feel like her and Schlattman should continue to split time there when she comes back from injury. I just feel like with both of them in the lineup, we strikeout a lot. Look at Baylor a team with like 80 slippers lol. They constantly put pressure on LSU and almost everytime it felt like they was gonna score. We can do that. We need to make more solid contact. It’s not like we’re hitting home runs to go with the strikeouts and bad contact. Good contact + speed = pressure, pressure = mistakes, mistakes = runs.

I agree with you
It amazes me we continue to swap people in RF when both players are producing offensively and 1/5 of the infield is only producing yet its set and stone.
I would like to see how it would look but does anyone actually think Torina would sit Sanchez and Schulte?

Schulte signed with Oregon then changed her mind and transfered here. She has a good arm, a natural middle fielder arm. Give Antione a shot at 2nd, though.

Sanchez is actually doing pretty well the last 5 games. I heard a stat on the radio that she reached base 9 of 15 plate appearances over the weekend and had a hit in all 4 games, including a big homer,to go with 5 walks. And she walked tonight and leads the team in walks. So yanking her out right now doesn't make sense.
Schulte on the other hand is like 1-26 right now and hasn't had a hit in at least 5 games.

I wasn't the on calling for her to be benched but I did with Schulte/2B
I just feel like offense should be a priority over defense at this point

Why do we do this every year? Because we have 6'2" in the circle that dominates and it allows us a huge margin for error when choosing our line up.
I just can't believe some of you die hard fans act surprised when this continually happens. Seems like every year we talk about the same stubbornness and favoritism given to certain players.
Nicky was not only a better hitter but was better across the board in any measurable facet and she rotted on the bench and left. Claire and Antoine are getting a small taste of what was shoved down her throat all year. None of these three have ever been given the lead way of the team favorites or they would all be successful starters and we would be better.
This years favorite will continue to be in the line up just like last years and the year before that. Production does not matter for certain players and any open minded person can see that.
Claire and Antoine need to edit their bios to say they are from CA and not LA and maybe, just maybe they can play in a string of consecutive games.
Beth is to position players as Miles was to QB's. Let's just all pray our two AA pitchers stay healthy all year to keep bailing us out.

You have cancer? Hate to hear that. Hope you get better.

It was nice to see Sunseri play like the way she did tonight. LSU will really need her bat. I know I am not the coach and so I don't see all the stuff that runs on behind the scenes
Just from watching them play Antoine and Claire are two of the more productive players on this team offensively between hits and OBP, yet they are the only ones continuously rotation in and out the lineup. Not once have we tried to improve any position on the infield.

Excellent!! Nice to hear
I saw Taylor Pleasants play not long
I completely forgot how tall she was, she is frickn massive (very tall) and intimidating. Now that is a player fans will be blown away by when she attends LSU, she can play.
how has Clarks season been? Can't find too much stuff on her

They haven't played as many games as normal because of weather. We got lucky and played in 2 tournaments of turf fields and got in all of our games.
Her team is in the middle of the pack in an 8 team district. Go to my website txprepsoftball.net and click on 2018 standings. Use the view 6A region 2 link to see standings in order. Or use Edit pages 6A and scroll to 15-6a and look at gamechanger link for Houston Stratford to see their box scores. They are only 7-9 while we are 16-6... one tournament behind.

Ashlynn, I think promises have been made, to be honest with you. I think you get people to commit sometimes only if you promise they will start.
I don't even think it would be a silly idea to believe that next year's starting lineup is already set in stone.
