The weren't chair backs, but a continuous aluminum back. Perhaps it's not stadium-wide but we had them in the nosebleed, so I assumed they were throughout the stadium.
Lower level visitors section was aluminum bleachers with no backs, but we didn’t sit very much anyway. Most of their fans were friendly since we’re not Clemson or Tennessee.

The fans, especially the students stayed throughput
Well I'd hope so, they were winning the entire game against a quality SEC opponent and it was close.
LSU fans stay for those too

did get to witness 2 Women fighting over cutting in line. It was more than a hair pulling contest. Big black woman from SC and a big white woman from LSU. Plenty of Haymakers......let's just say the LSU woman did not come out on top. LOL

It was a nice trip for us. They ran out of food and drinks in 3rd qt. Most of the fans seemed like assholes. I like the pregame with the train. The sandstorm music was getting old. I didn't see any RV parking. We visit a friend that we didn't seen since Luke AFB. He said half of Columbia is Clemson fans.

They were nice enough to me, until they felt their lead slipping away. Then it was pretty much blaming the refs from then on, and focusing on me as the only LSU fan nearby.
Funny story: One old guy sitting in front of me got confused about who was on offense and defense at one point, so he was on our side for a while, and it threw me off. Unfortunately, he figured it out after the drive, but it was nice to have an unexpected ally.

Gone to games there 2X. It's a nice stadium but doesn't come close to Tiger Stadium. Music and noise piped in, take that away, not really loud. The coolest thing they have are the train cabooses "Cockaboose" on tracks outside the stadium for tailgating. But to get there is terrible, go through bad parts of Columbia, tailgating parking lots are far away, SC fans we interacted with were not very friendly. That's been our experience.

Can attest to this. Charleston was my first duty station., I always headed to Columbia for the weekend when not deployed. Great folks and plenty of hot women.

Here is my take. Wife and I flew into Charleston Wednesday. We were the last flight out of BR before the hurricane. Charleston was great. We really enjoyed it. The history and the food are impressive. I would recommend the Fort Sumter tour if you haven't done it.
We drove into Columbia Saturday morning. I had talked to some cocks on the cock board who recommended paying to park at businesses on Bluff rd. as close to the stadium as you can get. We parked by 9:30. Probably sat in traffic for 15 minutes to park.
Other friends who were coming left Charleston about 30 minutes after us and didn't park until 11:00 so timing is important there.
Now to the stadium... I will never go back there. It is a shite hole. We sat in club seats, the traditions club. Their suites have nothing included. No food no drinks, not even water. Then when you want a drink the lines were OUTRAGEOUS even in club seats. I missed almost the whole first quarter getting a drink.
The speakers that everyone has been talking about were just above your heads there. You couldn't even speak to the person next to you at any point without yelling at the top of your lungs.
Sandstorm was cool the first time, but I didn't know they did it 6 times a game. Was old after that.
I just started plugging my ears for the rooster crow after the 457th one.
Now, where I differ in most opinions thus far was traffic after the game. We stayed until triple zero's walked back to the car and drove straight out. We were back to the interstate in 15 minutes. I guess it all depends where you park. We were back in Charleston for 6:30.

Thought it was a great atmosphere, especially for a noon kick. It was definitely one if the more electric atmospheres I've been to (14/16 SEC schools now), but I never thought it got that loud and I was near the field. I'm guessing the early kick was to blame for that. ... Sandstorm and the towels were really cool, not going to lie.
Overall I thought the stadium was great once you were in your seats, but I missed half the second quarter getting drinks and waiting in line for the bathroom. The only stadium I can think of that was worse in that regard was Little Rock.
Their tailgating felt very NFL-like to me though with it all confined to parking lots. That said, the Cockaboose was really cool.
I must've hit up the wrong bars because I thought their co-eds were very average for SEC standards and didn't hold a candle to Ole Miss, Bama, LSU, Auburn, etc.
Columbia was a cool town though and I'd definitely go back whenever we play again. Fans were really cool and some of the nicest I've dealt with in the SEC.

Wore my LSU shirt and beads and sat in the lower section on the South Carolina side with my son who goes to school at USCe. Everyone was nice with some good natured fun by all the folks except for an a-hole UGA fan next to me.
Couldn't make it to Game Day but thought the game atmosphere was great. Everyone in my area were on their feet for most of the game and loud!
Took the shuttle from the campus in the morning and walked back to his apartment after the game.
