The Pac 10 had a better bowl record than the SEC last year, just saying
Pac-10, 10 teams, 5-0
SEC, 12 teams, 6-3
In my opinion, though 5-0 is a higher winning percentage, 6-3 is the better record.
Better yet, let's include non-bowl teams in the standings.
Conference | wins | losses | non-bowl teams
Pac-10, 5-0-5
SEC, 6-3-3
SEC > Pac-10

The PAC 10 only has one tie-in the the BIG 10 and that is the Rose Bowl. The SEC has two tie-ins with the BIG 10 (Outback, Cap One).

For the Decade it is unquestionably the SEC

But yeah, the Pac-10 is way better
This exemplifies my point. Rantards see what you want to see and have to over-exaggerate if some one does not 100% agree with your view that the SEC is over all and all other confences suck. I sometimes think some rantards actually believe Vandy or West Monroe would win the Pac 10 or Big 10
I said it was DEBATABLE between the SEC and Pac 10 for 2009 which was the best conference, because the PAc 10 has depth. How you can interpret that into way better is beyond me.

Fine I stand corrected. Of their five wins last year, one was against the Big-10, one was against the Big East, and one was against the Mountain West.

Nuance is lost on the Rant. My position is that the SEC is the best, but not by as much as everyone thinks.

1.000 > .6667, that's not debatable Mr Math.

in 2008, no doubt about it.

I never said all other conferences suck. I just said that the SEC is the best conference. Top to bottom, the SEC is the best year in and year out.
All you need to do is look at NFL rosters and the SEC has more players on NFL rosters than any other conference in football. USC may have the most of any one team but the Pac-10 doesn't have the most of any conference.

SEC has been down the last two. This year, its pretty bad. Neither Bama or UF should be undefeated at this point, the fact both are speaks volumes of how down the SEC is this year.

Interesting stat on BCS conferences vs BCS conference, its 2 years old, but from 98-07 check out what conference has the best winning percentage against other BCS conferences:
Pacific 10: 54.5%
Southeastern: 50.8%
Big Ten: 50.5%
Atlantic Coast: 50%
Big 12: 48.8%
Big East: 45.9%

This is the actual bowl winning percentages.

this is a stat made up by xiv to support his argument.
Please note, the SEC was easily the best conference in 2008. the Pac 10 was toward the bottom in 2008, that is why USC was left out of the BCS CG.

You may not, but many tards on here do.
No one, even the media and Bristol mafia would argue that the SEC is not the best conference historically.
I was merely arguing that for 2009 (and only 2009, no history factored in) that its debatable.
The SEC is always in the debate, to that end it will always be viewed by some as over rated, because there are often teams like this year's LSU that hover in the top, but really may not be that good.

Shouldn't they wait until after the bowl season?

no one but you complied a stat of teams not in bowl games.
Overall in 2008, SEC > Pac 10.
In Bowls, the Pac 10 was better. 5-0 > 6-3.
