to the guys saying no to cowan, who else would you start? noot? Williams?

I shy away from starting Cowan because he has been a relief pitcher all year and got rocked pretty good in his only start of the season. I would start Noot or Shores as the they have the most experience starting. If he is planning on using Cowan out of the pen, I would even consider Rizy as the difference in the two styles is massive and would be tough to adjust to.

Cowan gets 2 batters if he starts, needs to retire at least 1 to continue.

If you don’t trust a guy, you don’t start them.

Jay trusts Cowan far more than you do.

Noot looked bad his last outing

Shores looked bad a few outings ago, until he didn’t

Cooper Williams sucked all year until he didn’t

Jacob Mayer was terrible all year until he wasn’t

Kade Anderson gave up 6 runs outing before last, and was bad until he wasn’t,

None of this means anything right now. Yall will write the book based on the last thing you see and that just isn’t how baseball works.

The good thing is nobody has to be good for the season. Just focus on getting it done this one time, pitch by pitch, tonight.

A starter with only 2 pitches.

Clearly you haven’t watched him pitch. Dude is a stud and isn’t a two pitch guy. He locates well (typically), can hit 93-94 with the FB, throws a devastating change when he’s on, and has a good curve ball and throws a slider as well. He’s just been in a rut lately and is primed to get out of it. He has a major role to play before this thing is over and I bet he delivers.

Cowan has the chance to go deep into a game more than noot who's never pitched deep into a college game

I tend to agree. I would just go with Noot to start. But what do I know, I last coached a tee ball team in 1995. I hope Cowan frickin deals tonight.
