How could you possibly know this unless you're on the staff?

Miles is NEVER going to let another season come down to a freshman under center - even if it's a redshirt freshman. Our program should have enough depth to be able to run a Junior out there, even as a #2.

The man will not be doomed to repeat history.

Perfectly said. I don't understand what's so hard about understanding that.

...and to add, I've seen MANY posters complain about him because of the fact that he didn't like prestigious in the Spring Game.

I'm just curious as to what people expect out of a RSFr. QB in the SEC.

People tend to think that every QB should be ready to go a year into the system. That's just idiotic.

Right on. Thats asking alot of a Redshirt Freshman.

But I do want to make one little point: Not every redshirt freshman that gets thrown into the fire, comes out worse than he went in.

It's the mindset. JLee sets a pick six record his redshirt freshman year, and was cast aside for the entire next year.

But look at Matthew Stafford or Aaron Murray...started as freshmen. Didn't try to do more than what they were asked, and did fine. No reason why we couldn't expect the same from a guy like Rivers as a Redshirt in a backup role, or as a sophomore or junior starter.

I hate to bring it up, but not every coaching staff is good at OJT with young QBs. I don't recall LSU being very successful doing that.

Historically, as far as LSU is concerned, you're right. But then again, Rivers is the first QB that Krags has had a chance to develop from the very beginning. Who's to say he wouldn't succeed?

I just don't think he's developing well

and i thing the two qbs we have coming in for the '13 class have more upside than him.

I like that he's 6'7", but if he can't throw the ball anywhere near the level that his brother can, then there's no point in making him the immediate backup.

Really dude? Really?

He could still be a good QB if he had half of the arm strength of his All pro NFL QB of a brother.

Honestly, they didn't really go after him per se, he pretty much just fell into their lap. Why wouldn't you take him when he doesn't count against your class and adds another warm body to the depth chart.

But IMO, I'd feel comfortable with Rivers next year of Mett decide to move on. He will be A RS sophomore who will hopefully get cleanup time this year

I think Rush Limbaugh made a comment about it during a monday night football game. Something to do with melanin.

Do you get to go to the practices and able to see this?

From people with access to practices, Randall has a LONG way to go.

The Rant in full swing. Expect an 18 year old, RSFr. QB to have the arm and accuracy of an NFL All-Pro QB. Jesus christ.

I just don't understand where you're getting that from. From all accounts (on here) Rivers is #2 and Randall #3. To tell the truth though I think Bolden, with some real coaching, will probably take that spot by next year. Unless Mett has an incredible year say 2600+ 25tds, I think he's back next year too.
