The tickets are cheap, it's in a huge alumni center, and a bunch of tickets to the bowl were sold months ago to non fans of either school including corporations and companies looking to resell the tickets to make a profit.

In the end, 7,250 tickets sold through LSU's allotment for a Houston bowl doesn't mean much. It's not a knock, but when tickets aren't that expensive, and you live in the city so no need for hotel/airfare/etc, then of course you should be able to sell tickets in a city with likely 200,000 LSU alumni/fans.

Lots of folks living in Houston...or elsewhere bought tickets on the bowl website just after the announcement too.

LSU will have a good crowd. Maybe not as much as the Wisconsin game, but way better than the Texas Bowl ever got for Syracuse/Minnesota for example.

The payout now for SEC vs. Big 12 elevates this game's worth.

But its,all about selling tickets so that is a major driver for having LSU in this bowl.

The negative Rant said before the A& M game they weren't interested in the game, they were glad they weren't going to the game and they bet it would be a dead atmosphere.

Damn the Rant.

Only 8k available to LSU?

if it were still 15,000 7500 sold would be a very poor showing. Alum alone in Houston that hasn't watched this shite show on a regular basis and want them some.

It should be a 60/40 split in favor of Tiger fans.

More likely certain segments of the rant wanted that to be true.

Sorry Charlie, give LSU fans credit. This is a mid level bowl and LSU fans have pretty much bought up their allotment in 24 hours. LSU fans have also purchased tickets through other channels as well. I know many of my friends purchased tickets through other outlets.

LSU will be very well represented in Houston. So get over it.

If anyone says something negative about that, gfy.

Lsu found out they were in the bowl 24 hours ago and you are trying to make some retarded point about past allotment when the current allotment is almost all sold out

that number of tickets are always sold through pre purchase to whatever bowl LSU goes to, and the are sent out to ticket holders from the time we were still 6-0. I bet most of those people are sorry they bought so early. So it's not 24 hours later dumbass. its 8 weeks later fricktoid.

I can't until we get cable television here in Houston. I'm starting to think I shouldn't have bought tickets, based on your analysis of the season I wasn't able to watch.

Yeah, to the extent I could decipher that mess of capitalization and grammar, I think you're just making that shite up.

School used to get 15,000 allotments from the bowls and would have to eat the unsold tickets. The conference negotiated that number down with the new bowl contracts.
