He's by far the most recognizable person in the state of Louisiana. Slamming the Man's character and moral fiber thru the media is pretty tough for any Tiger fan to take.
My view is that this was initially an internal smear campaign designed to reduce his buyout. However, when the public (rantards included) was still somewhat supportive of Coach O as a popular coach especially after amazing VICTORY over Fla. the rumors/leaks ceased a bit.
Now, if you are the most popular person in the entire state of Louisiana don't you think anything semi-confrontational you say to someone you don't know will be either sensationalized or discussed in the media at some point?
Maybe you guys/gals have a different take.... Personally I think it's hilarious all the b.s. coming out from the nepotism to girlfriend's kids practicing w the team, to hitting on a married and pregnant woman. The hunting incident is sure to gain some traction but it's probably a whole bunch of nothing like everything else.
Let's see if he has the team prepared for Ole Miss. I'm going to go out on a limb and say LSU will be more than prepared. We may even beat them by double digits.
i don't get all the downvotes. it's gotta be Ole Piss fans gearing up to throw water bottles like Vols fans.

I understand the points you're trying to make and there are some truths in there. I disagree that this was some sort of smear campaign. Coach O's character is more akin to a football fan and less of a coach. He is the leader of a multi million dollar organization at a prominent university. His conduct and management of the team were not at the level that should be expected. He didn't fully appreciate the job he had and so now that job is going to someone else. I like him. Just not as a coach of LSU. We can do better.
