Pat Rogers and Allen Stansberry -

Smartest and most disciplined LBs I ever saw. Not the biggest, fastest, strongest, mind you, but they played an intelligent, Mike Singletary or Sam Mills style of defense. They shed blocks, kept lane discipline and made tackles.

You should have seen those guys play....

Never really found myself to impressed with C Alexander or Bert Jones. Todd Kinchen was ok but not a must see. I doubt we ever game planned to stop Kinchen.

What about Josh Reed?

Eddie, Eddie, Eddie! I loved to watch him return punts.

I will never forget that 100 yard punt kick return that he ran across the back of the endzone and all the way! I was like, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" Then, he got a td...

Eddie Kennison was incredible. I remember that play the way some of our more seasoned fans remember Billy Cannon's Halloween run on Ole Miss...

I saw mention of a lot of guys who played in 68 and 69. I am surprised that nobody has mentioned Eddie Ray.

That was a fullback! He blasted through the line for what seemed like 5 yards+ every time! He wasn't real fast but he would not go down until absolutely mobbed. He was a devastating blocker, as well!

That 1969 team was one of the best ever!

You should have seen Todd Kinchen play. He jumped over guys. He went around guys. He would run six seperate fake moves on the same guy. In one game against Texas A&M, he was a one man wrecking crew. You should have seen him....

I had a Todd Kinchen poster in my room as a child, his calves were fricken HUGE!!! He was a beast on the field, I remember the A&M game vividly.

John Williams. Guy was a great player for us in the Daddy Dale era. I was also a big Vernel Singleton fan

Michael Brooks. Before his knee injury the guy was as good as any linebacker I have ever seen.

Hodson to Davis was as good as any pass catch duo until Rohan to Reed. If Rohan and Reed had adequate coaching prior to Saban and Fisher there is no limit to their career stats.

No comments on Josh Reed? Obviously ya'll never game planned to stop him, either.

OUCH - got ointment for that burn?

ETA: Archie Manning single handedly defeated the Tigers twice in 1968 & 1969. I hated him for it - but he was incredible to watch.

Wendell Davis
Todd Kinchen
Tommy Hodson
Eric Andolsek

Played intramural basketball against Hodson and Kinchen. Hodson was actually very good with the round ball and Kinchen...you couldn't rebound against him. While the rest of us were waiting for the ball to come down, he was pulling down rebounds from above the rim. Quite an athlete.

LaRon Landry >_>

Billy Cannon might have been the best person to watch in the late '50s -- if only because there was no other offense besides RB left RB right RB middle >_>

you should have seen Justin Vincent as a FR, because if you saw him that year and the rest of his career, you wouldnt believe he was the same player

Bert Jones - as previously mentioned split time and could have been even better than he was

Tommy Cassanova - always around the ball and hit HARD

Pete Maravich - words cannot describe
