good post...totally agree...thought Miles could have had a little better game plan & don't understand why he never used Shepard, but Les makes a couple of mil a year and i try to get by on soc. sec. so think his decisions bear a little more weight than mine...am very disappointed Tigers lost but when they hold the #1 team in America to two field goals and one big play that resulted in a td (which obviously should have been called back for offensive interference), i'm pretty damned proud to wear my LSU colors everywhere i go up here in tennessee!!!! GEAUX TIGERS!!! Rest up and kick Auburn's arse!!!

What part of:

But if you are in this for the Long Haul, you need to react to failure, adversity, bad breaks, injuries, bad officiating, bone-headed coaching etc. with some semblance of maturity-or you risk making it UNFREAKING UNBEARABLE for the rest of us.

Don't you understand ?

Sorry to say I am too old to be a newbie! But I have lived thru MANY seasons wherein a #10 ranking would be wildly celebrated.

We loved those 8-9 win teams. One thing that is different today, however, is that we understood, in decades past, that the Tigers' talent was good-to-very good, but not elite. We had the occasional All-American, but not rosters full of 5-star recruits.

So, it is understandable that expectations of success are higher today.

Agreed.
But, alas that is NOT my point.

And naturally, you will be the judge of who is mature on this board and who is not?

What's unbearable is watching that offense get buried under a cloud of dust.

Of course, making up standards for others on the internet means that he gets to enforce them too.

Technically, we didn't really have an offense last night.

I was reacting to the multiple calls for Miles & Crowton's heads, the achingly painful pleas for Saban to return for hugs and all the typical melodrama that so many idiots partake in.

The world is coming to an END !
All is lost !
My coke was flat !

You two may now return to your semi-hysterical circle jerk.

You never really mentioned people calling for coach's heads in the first post. I may be mistaken though so correct me if I am. I'm not a big fan of people calling for public lynchings of coaches, but I'm all for people being realistic about how we CAN play(especially on offense) and how we actually are playing.

This thread only served to add to the melodrama btw, but thats pretty much any thread on the rant.

Miles has 15 minutes on Monday at 3 PM. Drop in and tell him what he needs to be doing in two weeks vs. Auburn. I'm sure he'll appreciate an education from such a knowledgeable football man.

You people kill me. You sit in the stands and yell, scream and complain yet you don't know s#$%.

There are 108 offenses better than LSU. How many are more talented? 6 or 10?

Agree!

This team, on offense, is underachieving PERIOD; and I don't care who Les puts at the QB position!

The coaching has been suspect for some time now, and I think the majority of Fans are starting to see this...

The silver lining is that Defense played lights out last night!!! If LSU improves and wins out, they will be in the NCG.

In 2003, LSU was 5-0 and lost to UF and dropped to #10

This New Generation of LSU fans...
This post 2003 generation, this generation that reacts to adversity by setting it's hair afire, takes some getting used to.

Some perspective, neophytes.

Sure, it would satisfy our egos to live in an alternate Universe where all our football dreams are fulfilled and every day is Christmas.

But if you are in this for the Long Haul, you need to react to failure, adversity, bad breaks, injuries, bad officiating, bone-headed coaching etc. with some semblance of maturity-or you risk making it UNFREAKING UNBEARABLE for the rest of us.

The Tigers are 5-1.
They are better than the teams they have beaten.
They are worse than the team that beat them.
Looking forward they should be favored in every game except one (possibly two).
I expect this team to rise to the occasion and meet and possibly exceed our expectations.
This break comes at a perfect time.
Lets get behind our guys (that INCLUDES our coaching staff) and try to create a positive environment that allows our team to succeed.
It's a little too early for the nuclear option guys, let's stand behind our team, not undercut team morale.

One play...one possession...one quarter...one game at a time.

BEAT AUBURN !

To SlowFlowPro:

I've been coming to this board for 3 years. I rarely post because I seldom see a good reason to. But, I must say, you are one of the most negative people on this board. I have read that the board's administration feel you serve a purpose. Other than being antagonistic, I fail to see any purpose to you at all. You rarely offer any constructive criticism. I, personally, am completely sick of your negativity. I'm amazed that you think of yourself as an LSU supporter in any way. You certainly must be one of the targets of the originator of this tread.

Your optimism is commendable. I just don't see how the coaching staff can repair what is obviously LSU's worst offense (at least in my 48 years)in just two weeks.
