We have entered the travel ball influenced era of college baseball. Kids who had pitching and hitting coaches and played year round since 8 years old. More kids have essentially trained their whole lives than ever before. Bigger schools can’t house all that talent, this leads to overflow into the smaller less noteworthy schools. Between that and the transfer portal, this is the result.
