We are in way better shape than we were last year at QB. Some of you tards thought Mett would never have an incompletion.

You'll see an entirely different team in 2 weeks at Florida

Apart from getting a couple of players back, how so?

LSU went into last night's game expecting to see the Auburn that had played the previous games. The start of the game seemed to give credence to that, and LSU seemed to relax a little. Auburn put on a run & LSU just never seemed able to get the momentum back. All the stupid penalties were the sign of a team that wasn't terribly focused.

They'll understand that their effort and focus last night won't cut it against Florida. I think this group may have decided that life in the SEC had become easy. After last night, I expect a much cleaner, sharper effort against Florida.

I've been an LSU fan for over 50 years, and LSU fans have always been this way. I'm sure there is a multitude of sociological and psychological factors underpinning the LSU fan mentality, but ignorance and bone stupidity have to be pretty high on the list.

Right up there with you in fan years clocked, nycajun. Hilarious, but probably painfully true explanation for the "why?" of some things LSU.

This has been one of the most comical post game victory meltdowns of all time

I seriously worry about the mental health of several posters.

You betcha. As somebody posted in another thread. Collective scores in AU over the past 5 games has been 53-50.

If Mett had a receiver like Rueben Randle last night we would have won by 40.

You're right. Of course JJ had been the QB for 4 years, not 4 games. But that's beside the point.

Mett will get better. But at this stage, he's not the elite level QB a lot of us expected. And he hasn't had much help from his receivers and OL.

And you expected this why? Because he spent a year at Butler Community College? If he were Cam Newton, Auburn would have hired him. Truth is, he's a very talented kid 2 live fire scrimmages, one Pac12 game and 1 SEC game into his LSU career. Expecting him to be anything else is some combination of ignorant and stupid. Before the season is over you will be genuflecting when you see his image. Lighten up.

1) He needs to learn to step up into the pocket. The OTs pushed the rushers to the outside, but Mett did not step up.
2) He is not a roll out passer.

3) With the exception of his roll out passes, I thought he threw very well.

4) Has Kadron Boone had a drop this year? I don't think so.

I agree. He needs to be a little more agile in the pocket. But all in all, with exception of fumbles, he did OK.

He needed to be road tested. He was and he survived. He's got the talent, he just needs SEC experience.

Think maybe Krags wants him to learn to do it before early November?
