Tommy Moffitt was my S&C coach in high school. The dude had us doing shite that LSU does today back in 1990. Karate, plyometrics, Olympic lifting. His whole thing is building fast twitch muscle fibers.

Moffitt used to have a website, www.lsupower.net, for high school coaches to be able to get access to his workouts. I just tried the website and its not working for me. They still link to it on LSUSports.net. LINK

Meh.... The planning and scheduling of strength & conditioning for players is the easy part of the job. Wouldn't take a lot of skill to put those together. On other hand, having a great personality, being positive & energetic, being a great motivator(most importantly). Finding ways to reach the players, making them want to "buy in" to your program.. those are the qualities that make Moffitt one of the best. Not his scheduled regiment of work out excercises. IMO

Proper technique also is something your average high school assistant can't coach.
Olympic style lift like cleans can be dangerous if not done properly with heavy weight. Not to mention not having the desired effect.
It can be the difference in fitness gains and a torn tricept out 8-10 weeks.
