ASIDE from the logo preference:
The Eye plate is completely done in purple and gold, which is nice, but I do like that Toonces says "Geaux Tigers" on it.

I have Toonces but only bc the eye wasn't available when I got mine. I love having my LSU plates in TX bc it drives the locals crazy & helps identify other fans around town.

The eye is definately cooler. For us; however, it came down to the dollar. "Toonces" is $70 for personalized where the eye is $195 a year. If money's not an issue, go with the eye.

I personally think the toonces one has an overall cleaner look. Swap out the eye logo on that one and it would be better.

Only on the rant is their such a hate for Toonces.
I much rather the old school logo (ie helmet logo) but only here is it an issue.
I know firsthand current players "could give a shite" based of the starter/playmaker that was over at my house for Chritmas Eve.

I have personally always liked the eye, but in the case of a vehicle tag, you are looking at it from a distance and it just comes across as kind of a blob of color...
I would go with the toonces which doesn't have a negative stigma at all once you get outside of LA...I am out of state as well and get compliments often concerning my toonces plate....

Actually, disdain for toonces is not only on the Rant. I know many LSU fans in the Houston area & in La. who probably rarely or never spend time on the Rant & don't like toonces. It doesn't take a lot of insight or intuition to realize that toonces is a silly, childish logo that doesn't do justice to the great LSU athletic programs.
I'll state once again that the LSU athletic dept. should find the person(s) who designed the toonces logo &/or the LSU official who authorized the logo, & introduce them to the crowd at halftime of a big home game in TS. Let's observe the crowd's reaction.

I'm not surprised that the current Tiger players don't care about logos too much, but the number of current players are insignificant compared to the sea of LSU fans worldwide who want to wear LSU gear that looks good. I hear from fans all the time who would purchase/wear a lot more LSU gear absent toonces. This is just a fact. I would be disappointed if LSU fans did not expect/demand classy looking logos on merchandise for which they're paying a lot of money.
