Alex Box Stadium: Where its better for non-LSU teams to win a super-regional than if they had played it at their own park.

So classy. Our fans are so classy. Classy classy classy.

Meanwhile, LSU's OWN PLAYERS get to sit in the dugout watching LSU fans high five the visiting team. Real classy. But thats what they deserve for losing, right?

All true. I'm not saying we spit on them and key their cars, and I'm not saying we dont' give their pitchers standing O's when they do well. It is a game and that's why I think it's a bit much to go to such lenghs to congratulate the team that beat your team while your team watches.

I agree here

Our baseball fanbase is full of insufferable assholes.

During the regular season, cheer great individual plays, especially on defense, that's fine.

But the playoffs are different. Watch some MLB playoffs, those places get loud, and as intimidating as many football games. And they're rude. Baseball isn't the "great classy sport." Also there's an in between area between cursing at the victors and giving them a victory lap. Its called leaving the park and bitching amongst friends about the performance you just watched.

Either our baseball fans don't actually care about baseball like they claim to, or they're just putting on a show for their own self gratification. Either way, its a bit of a farce.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. But I'm an LSU fan, not a Stony Brook fan. There is no reason for LSU fans to celebrate with them.

You must live in a small world. Those guys go home and tell folks what a nice place LSU is, next few years we may recruit an outstanding athlete from that area.
There is no substitute for good manners.

I'm happy that a small program showed so well. I want be disappointed if they win it all.

I'm torn on this, it was a classy gesture for a school with no history of success.
On the other had, Janikowski tried to cleat two of our players, and Carmona was staring down the whole team every at bat. Not to mention them flashing their little sign at the camera every chance they got. They weren't exactly being classy to us so I dk why we had to do it to them...

The fans lined up down right field chanting and applauding for Nola and the other guys who are not coming back. Our own distraught players did nothing but hold their heads down and return to the locker room... why didn't they come to the RF line and acknowledge the fans who stayed after the LOSS to support them? I sent the two boys with me to the RF line to let the LSU boys know that even in a loss we wanted to thank them for a great season!!! But they barely waved at the fans and left the field.

We stayed and when the Stony Brook players came around the boys high fived them and told them good luck in Omaha... it's called sportsmanship!

Hallelujah! I agree 110%. The two boys that you sent to the RF line are learning to be actual thinking humans who applaud athletic effort on both sides of the playing field. Those of you who think that we are supposed to hate the other side just "cause" are showing your supreme ignorance. SB kicked our butts and earned their trip to ABN. Had I been there I would have high fived them and wished them the best as well. Great job noted for 2 great teams with 2 great seasons.
Grow up haters.

it wasnt like that at all dude

someone earlier said there was a ton of fans waiting for the LSU team when they left the locker room to go out to the parking lot

it was probably 400-500 fans at most out of nearly 11,000 that stayed for the "victory lap"

people need to stop being so dramatic about this.

Waiting 30 minutes to physically shake hands with and provide enough people to participate in a victory lap, is well, stupid and makes those participating look like they have no life.

It was literally 5 minutes after the game ended. I was there. Please stop exaggerating.

You have some of your hardcore box fans who tend to be pretty far jammed up their own a-hole and believe they're a little more important than they are. They also seem to believe they're better than football fans "ohhh baseball is just different than football, we're better because we like applaud other teams for good efforts and stuff." Oh really? Cool. It's funny to hear them just lap it up about how smart and clasy they are for doing this.

Also, when did baseball become this country club gentlemen's sport that the average Neanderthal football fan just can't understand ? Baseball isn't as complicated as some baseball fans would like you to believe. Get over yourself

LSU baseball fans are not as insecure as many of these kids who post here.

We don't expect to lose, and don't want to lose, but we will be right back there next time for the win.

Clap for the good play and be confident that, more than not, the winners will be the home team. At least act like you've been there before. Don't act like a punk. Also, these ARE college kids, after all. Most of their traveling fans are their parents. Treat them well.
This.

It seems the LSU kids were so disappointed they wouldn't acknowledge their own fans, and let me ask this to 316 and the other baller....I guess Katz appreciating the fans is wrong, too, right? Grow up.

What's funny a lot of the guys that are being "classy" fans during baseball season are probably the same guys getting into yelling matches with opposing fans, and booing our players during football season

Some of OUR OWN PLAYERS think it was cool- while the crybaby segment of the Rant continues to show their immaturity by saying anyone who thinks this was a nice gesture is a loser.

Now who is really supporting who? Nice job, kids.
