It doesn't even feel like he has 36 wins after that.

That record is pathetic. Would expect much more out of LSU. Trent may be a good man but we want a good coach that can recruit good players.

Trent can't coach! As for KY, I lived there for 5 years & they are king when it comes to BB. U got to give the devil his due.

I didn't...But to hear TJ say that the players stopped competing, is not good. Do you think there will be any more decent crowds at the PMAC this season to watch a team that gives up?

If yes, why?

Probably not, I think most people there went to watch Kentucky.

Trent has been given a long leash to get this b-ball program back to winning consistently. It's pretty obvious that he'll be the coach next season, but even then everyone will know he's under the gun to produce a tourney team, or he's most probably out...So good luck with recruiting, with the recruits not knowing if Trent will be their coach.

we're only waiting on one more recruit for next season anyway. We may take more than 2 but the rest will come with an LSU offer either way.

It's not about Ky...does anyone really think we will ever make the NCAA tourney with TJ as coach

I think if we get Gathers to compliment Morgan next year and all the other eligible players return we'll have a team that IMHO is talented enough to make the tournament.

Then it's on T.J.

I am giving Trent to the end of this season.

I thought improvement would be going 8-8 in the SEC.

That meaning 6-3 for the rest of the season. I think it is possible with the rest of the schedule, but I don't know if they will be able to do it.

You would to pull something like this for that to happen:

Arkansas - win
@ Vandy - loss
Alabama - win
MSU - loss
@ USC - win
Georgia - win
@ ole miss - loss
Tenn- win
@ Auburn - win

Since when being at least competitive is too much to ask?

I think you are close to correct, but 7-9 wouldn't be the end of the world imo... But your premise is correct, he needs to go somewhere in that .500 SEC range to stay for next year imo. I think he gets there because like you said the back 9 games of this schedule is a joke to what we had to deal with in January.

No. But we expected LSU to have more fight in them. They are the number one team and winning was a long shot, but don't let them come in and steamroll the Tigers. A guess a part of me thought we'd see the ole LSU Tigers that protected the home court.

So the folks on here would be happy beating a bunch of crap teams, while being mostly not competitive against any real competition? Can we at least have some moderate expectations of Trent, after all we are paying him pretty decently.

1.5 million is not a really high salary for a coach.
