What is this boards obsession with trey Quinn? Is it because he's white?

Basically, but his defender will they you that its because of the records he broke in HS. What they don't understand/can't accept is that most of these guys who come through LSU break records left and right while in High School. Dupre and Dural are just more talented than he is.

Hell Jarvis was a way bigger recruit(and frankly and better HS player) than Odell was, but we've all seen how that worked out.

Yeah it is very possible that Quinn peaked in High School. Maybe he has reached his ceiling.

I hope not. I hope he turns in to the big star a lot on here seems to think he already is.

GD dude, you start whining like a bitch everytime Quinn's name gets mentioned.

Kid is a sophomore.
He's not transferring anywhere. GTF over it.

He hasn't nearly reached is ceiling. If you watch Quinn run routes he goes all out on each play. BH right now is focusing on first and second options only. Quinn's routes appear to be the third option when we are in 3 WR sets...As Brandon goes through his progressions better, he will see the ball more and have his opportunities...There is no shame in seeing the field as a Freshman and Sophomore..

I don't want him to transfer. I want him to succeed.

I have no problem with the kid. I have a problem with the people who bitch and whine about his play time every God damn week even though LSU is undefeated.

Like I said. He is Tommy Banks all over again.

5 receivers get rotate in. Dupre and Dural play most snaps with Diarse, Quinn, and Johnson rotating in. Harris trust Dupre and Dural the most. It's just the way it is.

BH will likely not have the same time to get the ball off as he has in previous games...As a result, Cam will have to cut down routes and encourage BH to look for more underneath options that should include Diarse, Quinn and Jeter

No he isn't. There are at least 7-8 offensive skill position players that are , without a doubt, better playmakers.

are there a different set of rules?

Yeah the is. If you are a wr that has proven he can produce a few drops aren't the end of the world, but if you haven't proven to be able to produce a few drops kills your chances to get in the game.

Quinn's drops directly led to a team getting a chance to win the game

The real question isn't why are people obsessed with Quinn it's more like why does some have to constantly put him down and bring up the race card!
Obviously he did something that made many fans appreciate and notice him. Maybe the same reason every college in the country offered him a scholarship! Remember he started as a true freshman and still continues to see substantial playing time! That doesn't happen for a player who isn't that good! Also being the fact he's white obviously has brought attention since most skilled players at his position are black! So this goes to show even the Quinn sore asses he is defying the odds! Last year Quinn had 2 drops that this year Dural and Dupre both have made but yet excuses made for them. Yea his where in a close game against Alabama his freshman year and no they where not as blatantly dropped as others have made this year. However he has been crusified by those who where probably waiting for the opportunity! Why?
Facts prove he is fast and can catch! 2 drops in one game and being white doesn't change those facts!

What is the fascination with this kid?
He's only the nation's all-time leading high school wide receiver. It would stand to reason that he would be able to do something in college receiving the ball.

This has to be a joke......right?
Quinn has been officially clocked in the 40 at 4.38 while Johnson a 4.52.

That is exactly what it is. I said it before on here and people freaked out. I don't care how many records he has. If he was black no one would be talking about him.

My favorite is when the Trey Quinn fanboys try to call you racist when you say think our other receivers are better.

I don't think I've seen any threads started just to put him down, but there are threads every week saying he doesn't get the ball enough, is getting unfair treatment, etc. The truth is he isn't good enough to warrant getting more touches at the expense of some of the other skill players. That doesn't mean he is a bad player, but he's the 4th or 5th best receiver on a team that has the best running back and one of the best running games in the country. If people can't handle that they need to stop starting or reading the weekly threads.

There was many players and coaches that directly led to us losing that game! Why the spotlight and punishment for only Quinn? People like you make it obvious you are targeting one player! There was more than one person on the team that contributed to our defeat! Even if you wish to put it all on Quinn, I believe he has handled it well and paid for it more than enough and more than any others have! It's not Justifiable! If anyone thinks it is justifiable then it needs to be equal for everyone!

Except for the fact that he hasn't yet. He has been beaten out so far.
