My dad and I were just talking about this.

I am saying some prayers for him.

Being competitive in a game is one thing but no one should be handicapped for the rest of their life.

Last update was he is in stable condition with neck and spinal surgery set within the next 24 to 48 hrs. I would imagine after they get in there and the swelling subsides the doctors will have a better understanding of his recovery. I can only hope he is like the kid from Penn St a few years ago who by the grace of God can walk and live a normal life.

I wish the best for the guy and his family in the challenges they face, hopefully it is not as bad as it seems.

One of my co-worker's son rooms with Devon. Still too soon to tell if he will have permanent paralysis. From everything I've heard about the young man he is a great student and real good person; hope he makes a full recovery from this.

On one hand I absolutely love this sport, on the other I absolutely hate that this is a part of it. Praying for him and Tevon Mitchel from Arky.

While we all know that football is a violent game, no one in their right mind ever wants an injury like this to occur. I am hoping the kid either makes a full recovery or as close to full as medically possible. He still has his whole life in front of him and can hopefully enjoy a decent quality of life in terms of health and general functioning.

Hang in there, man.

So very sad. Thanks for the heads up. It is encouraging to see some of the good folks responding on this board. Makes me proud. Like yourself, we pray for a full recovery. Godspeed brother.
