Hey pig, you forgot to mention that your baseball team, your ull pride and joy was swept by ULM this year. Although ull won in football this year, check out the past 5 years during the time you claim UL. Not even close. The real UL is in Monroe. They own you. Please ULM drop the M and make a mockery of this UL BS.

The Warhawks have done ok since becoming FBS and joining the SBC. When you consider the terrible shape the school was in bout 2000, it has been a fairly amazing recovery.

The football win @ Bama has to be the biggest win posted this decade, if not ever, by a Louisiana school other than LSU.

I don't know about ever. Tech beat Bama twice at their Homecoming game. Once in 99 on the last play of the game and in 97. But I will admit that ULM beating BAMA is large.

In the engineering community an engineering degree from LSU and La Tech are looked upon more highly than other LA Universities.

Check your facts. La. Tech and ULL are ranked in the same category (no rank) and LSU is ranked 90 out of 198 engineering schools.

In fact, LSU (excluding the sports programs)is more comparable to ULL than it is to UT or Texas A&M.

The entire fight to get UL to add the laffy part to its name was ridiculous in my opinion.

Just another example of Louisiana politics in action.

Coming from PA, we have both penn state and university of penn. We can easily tell the two apart, and one school does not mind that the other school has the name.

Once again, the politicians with degrees from LSU seem to believe that allowing ULL to be called UL will somehow cheapen the reputation of LSU.

How could the politicians allow ULL to drop the L and not allow ULM top it's M. Why would you think that this issue is an LSU thing when in reality no schools alumni and area legislators would allow this. Not because it cheapens or is demeaning to LSU but because it gives the appearance of your seperation from the other State schools. ITS NOT LSU! Its the whole damn state except a few like yourself in LALA Land.

Touche. You should see if there are any openings in the LSU P.R. department. You'd be awesome.

Northeast Louisiana was originally oppossed to the name change. Since USL could not make the switch with out 2 conditions being met !

1) The name of the city after U of L must be used.

2) At least 2 schools must participate.

USL's retired horse farm scandalized president was totally dishonerable with Northeastern as he lobied them to join forces. Once it was approved the assertion of ULL over ULM was underway .
ULL scamed ULM . Speaking of politics.

Ok, I've rooted for both schools and everything and ULL is not a bad academic school but they are not on the same level academically as LSU. LSU is a Princeton Reveiw top tier school and ULL is a third tier school. They are not the same academically.

Agreed that its not all about sports. It also has nothing to do with School size. As has been pointed out to you ad nauseum and what you cant seem to understand is that you are part of a system along with the other state schools that ultimately are at the discretion of the legislature before your name could be changed. Again, you will never get a consensus from the legislators from around the state to such a change. Any legislator from Monroe, Ruston, lake Charles, Baton Rouge, Houma or NO would lose there position if they voted for such a name change for ULL. This is not an LSU thing anymore than a ULM,NSU, Mcneese,UNO, thing. Get over it you are not UL or University OF LOUISIANA and you never will be.

I graduated from both (ULL undergraduate and LSU Medical School and can tell you I was well prepared by by undergraduate experience for the rigors of medical school. We should be proud of what both schools have accomplished and not snipe at one another. There are plenty of non LSU and ULL fans who are willing to do that without any encouragement.

Amen.

It's one thing to be the University of Louisiana........but it's not the same as being THE university of Louisiana.
