Is Tukwila really that bad?

Yeah, it's a dump, but like you said - not like you'll be staying there a lot.

It's pretty far from downtown, though.

What is a good central location for parking a rental car? Can I getto Chinatown, Space Needle, etc. by walking?

Those 2 are at opposite sides of downtown. The buses are free downtown though and there's a monorail.

China Town is a dump. Skip this idea. Don't waste your time.

I am used to the weather and am wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Will bring a jacket or poncho if rain is predicted. Average weather in seattle at that time of the month is roughly 71 degrees, that is at 5pm. Will cool down and the stadium is on Lake Washington. If its windy it will come of that cool water:) Just see what the weather is like when you get here...not that they know anything....LOL! I would suggest a sweatshirt at the very least for the warm blooded tourists coming in:)

I really like it here. I would hang close to downtown Bellevue as it is quite nice with plenty of eateries and bars. All other areas are a bit family oriented and almost too laid back.

No problem. Hope you enjoy it. That sounds awesome. I should add something about those plane tours. Most of them take off from Lake Union. You can sit in Gasworks Park and watch them.

Yea the whale watching company you had on your guide actually put me in contact with them. Its a 40 minute flight around the city and to the island and then a 20 minute flight back.

JT,
I have read about rail service fromthe airport to points north. I have also read that the last 2 mile section that leads into the airport is not yet completed.
What would you suggest would be the best mode of transport from the airport and then back again for an early flight Sunday morning?
Taxi? Train? Walk? Unicycle?

There are shuttle buses friom the aiport to the light rail station in Tukwila. I expect there would be a shuttle bus from the light rail station to the terminals.

How long do you estimate it will take one way to do this?

I saw an article in today's Seattle Times about airport travelers being confused (with others) about where/how to pay fares, etc. at the Tukwila station. It is so close, the ride would be no more than 10 to 15 mins. People should hit the South Sound Transit link in the link I attached to find out about shuttle bus schedules.

My thing is if you are 4 or more people, just take a cab. It's 7 bucks a person or so for a straight shot to the terminal.

Question
Does this sound like a good idea and/or is it feasible?
We're flying in Thursday night.
Friday-we're planning on doing the Boeing Museum then coming back downtown to see Pikes Market & the Space Needle.
Saturday-gameday
Sunday-either ferry to Victoria or train to Vancouver.

P.S. would you suggest Victoria or Vancouver? I've heard Victoria is beautiful, but i don't think Butchart Gardens is for me. Is there anything else to see for me & the wife? Then i'm scared of Vancouver b/c then we'd have to rent a car once we got there.

This thread is so helpful. Thanks
