I’m not offended, doesn’t apply to someone I care about on a personal level. To me, there’s a line of criticism athletes have that fan should not cross.
Fat jokes are borderline, but this one’s been played out and isn’t funny anymore. The guy could read this and ruin his day. Hope it wouldn’t, but possible. Not worth the not funny joke.

If a fat joke ruins his day he has bigger problems 
He calls himself Big Pappa. I can promise you he’s stronger than you think. Fat jokes mean nothing to him.

I’m not going to make fun of him for being fat.
But his weight impacts his play IMO. And while I’m not positive about this, he looks heavier than he did when the season started.
I think there are pitched he can’t get to because of his body.

Absolutely and you’d think Jay would’ve made him lose weight or attempt to. There’s never been a case in history where being fatter helped you at batting or fielding.

100% affects his play and movement in the field. Now that you say something about it affecting his swing, could be why he pops up to the infield every other at bat.

In his first AB of the year he turned on an inside pitch and crushed one.
I was impressed that he was able to do that as a big man. I don’t think he can do that now.
Also, when he gets to the plate and bends to tap the outside of it, he actually has to take a little step with his front foot to do that. I think that shows why he can’t do anything with outside pitches either.
