You nailed it. I have a ton of gratitude to Miles for bringing us a national championship, being a good representation of the school and not being the subject of NCAA violations or arrests like other schools. The best my memory serves me, the last LSU game that was actually fun to watch was the BCSNCG against Ohio St. Since then games have been closer than they should be or losses.

We should beat both Alabama and Ole Miss but it would be par for the Miles course if his team slipped up and lost one or both of those.
Why do you believe this?
#1 LSU is ranked higher than Bama
or
#2 LSU football History is in LSU's favor in the Series against Bama

I'm sure a lot of other schools wish they were SUFFERING through a 7-1 season.
Texas and Florida come to mind...

Les may be 58-16 on paper but if you factor in moral defeats he's 16-58. That's worse than Curley Hallman.

This. Now if he wins out I will be impressed.

Sorry I mistyped. I meant to type Arkansas but instead typed Alabama. I edited.

No not THIS. Most every swinging Dirk on this board predicted LSU losing to Florida.

+1. Because we will have gotten a victory over one of the SECs top teams in Alabama. I very much discount the 08 Auburn game because of where they ended up at 5-7. My point is should we as fans be satisfied with an 11-2 record if it means we're settling for losing to the best teams year after year? I find it unacceptable that LSU hasn't beaten a legit top 10 team since 2007.

Pre-Miles, LSU had come out on top in the SEC 8 times out of the previous 47 seasons (1958-2004), when including 1984. That's about once every 6 years. Miles is in his 6th season and will have 1 SEC title. He's kept pace by LSU standards. Okay. Good enough so far.
The concern is that the team's operations are becoming so sloppy and bewildering that LSU is about to get passed by in the conferene, fading into an obscurity that is below LSU's historic trend line.
I don't know. I guess it's possible that he could hire a new OC for 2011 and turn everything around, and then all we be well again and the fanbase will come to love him. But it's starting to look like the writing is on the wall that it's just not going to happen.

In 112 years, you had 7 10 or more win seasons.
Now you have 10..

Necessary? Be more like your husband, Kathy; Les is a classy fella.
In Sept we usually don't play the big boys in our conference. Plus, our opponents get a good bit of film on us toward end of the year. Injuries and usual wear-and-tear starts to test your depth by then.
Nov. is the month of champions; it should be when you are playing your best. Because of poor coaching and lack of experienced and talented depth at key positions, we've been fading down the stretch.

Year W-L SEC vs Top10
2005: 11-2 (7-1) *2-1*
2006: 11-2 (6-2) *2-2*
2007: 12-2 (6-2) *3-0*
....years under Miles with a serviceable qb

2009: 9-4 (5-3) *0-2*
2010: 7-1 (4-1) *0-1*
....years under Miles with atrocious qb play!
FOLKS...we DESPERATELY need a qb.
Look at the downfall of uf this year...the lack of a true replacement for Teblow...
We CANNOT expect to run the table with well below average play from the most important position on the offensive side of the ball. WE HAVE to pick up a qb before next year that can get the job done.

We've played 6 top 10 teams in 3 years. We've beaten 1 of them. The number may as well be 0-5 because the top 10 team we beat....#10 Auburn which finished 5-7 and unranked
You don't see the problem here?
Of course those are frustrating numbers.
But with this season still going on, it's hard to rush to judgment.
There's good reason we lost those game the last few years... those teams were better.
