I don't know where all the nonsense is comning from that les would've finished 2016 strong. that was a bad football team with low morale.

but you can argue all you want - we'll never know who is right, because it didn't happen.

One last comment then I'm done with you, you're hanging your argument on miles starting out 3-2 but it's not how you start it's how you finish. I'm not a fan of bill belichick but he's a great coach, so you get the pattern here? There's people you don't like but it doesn't discount what they've done. Question 1) how many championships Saban has with miles' tenure? Question 2) if you were miles and someone said you can win 3-4 more championships if you transform your offense would you change? If you answer no and are bullheaded like miles then you're an asinine fool just like him. Difference in a great coach and just a good coach. saban changes qb at half and wins championship (great coach) , miles sticks with Jefferson who couldn't get you past midfield until 4th qtr. (Good coach at best). Bama changes offensive game plan in championship game and throttles us and embarrasses miles(great coach), Miles sticks with same gameplan and bangs his head against the wall and gets the shite beat out of him(meh to good coach). Do you get it now?

I was addressing the dumb frick that said he wasn’t a fan of Miles BEFORE “that game”.

Hence my referencing Miles’ tenure up to that point making his position absurd.

I take it from your defense of him you fall in the same shallow edge of the gene pool

Why is it that people that can’t argue their position logically and rationally on these boards always invoke these images of homoerotica involving the men they seem so fixated on hating??

It’s something Freud probably would have found interesting to say the least.

And I’m on record on this board before 2016 saying if we didn’t win the West Miles should be fired

My “argument” was nothing more than anyone that “wasn’t a big fan of Miles even before that game” was a fricking moron.

That means you, des

That incoherent babble strongly solidifies my first impression.

I appreciate the confirmation

I'll put my intellect against yours anyday douche bag. You not addressing my last comments tells me you have no retorts because it's true and by answering them if you would change the offense would be you're admitting you're wrong, I get it, you're one of those.

Troy has been a pain versus Les Miles, Nick Saban and both were frickin lucky to beat em.
Accusing a competitor to be lucky when winning by 9 points, or 2 scores, is a lament of losers....... and old fools.

What magical genie offered Miles 3-4 more championships if he changed his offense??

Remember why Les was fired?

Les had promised to Alleva and F King that he would keep Cam but change the offense. He didn't. Then he starts 2-2 with a very poor offensive display at Green Bay and against Auburn as well.

The fans were very restless and Alleva knew it. Letting Miles stay until the end of the season, short of winning out, was going to cause lots of negative discussion in the media as well as among fans every week. That translates into empty seats and poor concession sales. Result: reduced revenue and a feeling of despair about what should be a Top 10 football program.

I think he felt he could "stop the bleeding" from the fans and media by firing Les after week 4 and promising a new start. This actually spurred new interest in the season and hope that our dull and unproductive offense might finally be changed, if not during the interim at least once the "new blood" was brought in.

Of course "I'm the search Joe" totally blew the process by not casting the net wide enough and putting all his hopes in Jimbo or Herman. When those didn't work he opted for a very short sighted and quick fix by hiring Orgeron.

I believe that even at that late date there were still some impressive candidates available for the job if Joe had already vetted them at that time. But to start that process then would have continued the speculation & media pressure for another 10-14 days (IMO) and he was really feeling the pressure. SO he settled for Ed. Additionally, I believe he was terribly embarrassed by being stood up by his first two choices and, like the socially awkward high school kid, chose the safe choice that he knew would say yes.

Nice, you answered a question with a question. For one, it was a hypothetical. Two, jamarcus's last year comes to mind as a year to win had he changed. There are others also. Oh, by the way, you misspelled decathlon dumbass.

It would have been an unmitigated disaster. Aranda probably leaves for Texas or A&M. Les would have been fired. The recruiting class would have gone to shite.

The mistake wasn't in firing Les. The mistake was bringing him back and having to do it the following year.

This wouldn't have happened.....the back part of our schedule was pretty weak. I think we would've had the same ending record regardless of coach.

The coaching search would've still gone the same way...we miss on Jimbo b/c of money, we miss on Herman b/c of Texas and Aleva gets the red arse and hires CEO.
