LSU will likely play at 6. Have your wedding at 1, have everybody smashed by 4:30 and have a tv on standby in case it becomes an issue. Or you can just move the reception to Walk Ons.

i disagree. If the person doesn't want people leaving their wedding or reception early than better planning should be done. If you are in LA and plan a wedding during a big LSU game well you fricked up on it and if family feels the need to leave so be it. When i do get married if I botched the schedule and it was on the same day as a LSU basketball or baseball game i wouldn't mind if people left.

This thread just makes me mad because a good friend of mine is getting married on OCT. 10 @ NIGHT!
In case you aren't a true fan and don't know (j/j), LSU vs. UF is on 10/10!!!!
There will be a TV downstairs from the reception, so I guess I can "escape" from the misses for an hour or so at a time!!!

Well, I guess technically it's my girl's friend. BUT, I pretty much "have" to be there! OBVIOUSLY the 2 people getting married aren't LSU fans. I guess there is the .9% chance that the game is at 2:30......

The worst are the fricking idiots that get married on a Sat. night during football season, and then wonder why the attendance is down at the wedding.
Or wonder why the ones that do show up at the wedding leave early

I really screwed up and got married on the Sat of the Kentucky game of 07. I knew it was an early game but didnt bank on the OT's. I was sure to tell people not to go if the game wasnt over with, because I wouldnt be there anyway. I was and hour and a half late, my bride to be only bitched about the loss. She was listenin in the limo. Weeks later my grandma told me my grandpa wouldnt leave home, said "Hell woman, that boy is somewhere watchin this and we aint missin shite."

Trust me on this and do not hesitate. Sit down with your fiancé after telling her you need to talk to her. Tell her that this is an important decision and you want her to be part of it. She knows about your passion for LSU.
If she tells you that you should not have the TV on, tell her you respect her decision and will listen to it. Thank her for the input and don't argue with her or try to convince her differently.
For the rest of your marriage, when it comes to LSU sports you will always be able to rely on that decision made on the date of your marriage and she will always be indebted to you, because you did the right thing on your wedding day. This day is for the bride. You will have a great marriage.
If she says yes, have a TV, you are going to be married till death. Don't leave her.

And then call you a "selfish bastard" for not attending. Hmm....pot and kettle?
And if you're too busy noticing why I am not at your stupid wedding, then you obviously care a lot more about the wedding than the next 50 years of your life.

That's when you look for a Unitarian Minister. They'll do anything anytime. Customer's always right.

This isn't the CWS, the NCAA basketball tourney, or a football game. That is why this is not something people should be bitching about missing.
