He won't change much for the last game of the season, but my lineup would be:

LeMahieu 2B
Mitchell RF
Dean DH
Schimpf LF
Gibbs C
Mahtook CF
Ochinko 1B
Helinihi 3B
Nola SS

I know you would have three lefties in a row 2-4, but I think you have to put your best hitters next to each other. Having Jared Mitchell in the 7-hole the last couple of weeks has been a waste.

ETA: Mahtook can't hit 2-hole. That is a fastball spot and Mahtook has had trouble catching up to the fastball. And we need Helenihi starting. He is too valuable on defense. Hanover can hit for him in the 6th or 7th.

Yea, in the CWS, he has been hitting extremely well, even his outs are usually well hit.

As a 5 through 9, a couple of them HAVE to step up if we're gonna win. I shutter to think what those 5 have hit in the last 2 games.

Yea, maybe my post was confusing, but i was definitely agreeing with you.

It's a balancing act though. While you'd like to put all those good guys at the top, you cant have 4 or 5 guys in a row at the bottom also not hitting.

No matter how we line em up, some guys that haven't hit so well the last 2 days will HAVE to step up if we are going to win.

Landry didn't get a hit tonight but had some decent cuts, used his speed to avoid hitting into double plays, gives us an all star OF defensively, and while I hate to say it bc an out is an out, on his 2 strikeouts tonight he at least had hope of making contact, unlike some of the hacks Ochinco has taken.

Landry did get a hit.

About to say the same. Against RHP he is a better option than SO, IMO (I'm factoring in hitting and defense). Plus having Ochinko on the bench gives you a solid bat to hit if they bring in a lefty and gives you a pinch run option for Gibbs late in the game (he can catch).

When I first read the last line about Ochinko being a pinch run option I was like WTF? Now I get it though..

id keep helenihi in to start for d but id tell him to crowd the plate and take one for the team. If we are up late he stays in down after 5 he goes out for hanover

That slow roller Helenihi scooped up & threw to 1B early in the game should count as a hit, don't you think?

I'm with you. Start him unless we fall behind around the 5th.
