Huh? Daltons left thigh was thicker than Sammy’s legs combined. Sammy was 5’11”. Dalton 5’8”

Him, Wendell, Rogie, Hodson, Hilliard, Fuller, Hill, Andolsek, Rehage, Brooks... the 80's had some great players
As a kid, it seemed like those guys played forever. That '87 class was my favorite.

Yep. Also, Dalton could juke three dudes in a phone booth but he wasn’t super fast in a straight line. Sammie was pretty much the opposite, although he did have some moves. His primary thing was just flat out speed

He came right after Dalton Hilliard and was somewhat similar in his size and elusiveness. Was a speedster on kickoff returns. Blew me and my buddy’s mind when we found out he was white.

Yeah not the best of comparison here for sure
Hilliard's legs were the tree trunk, Sammy's was the branches

Couldn’t see the size of Martin’s thighs from way up in the standa. From there the two appeared similar in size and elusiveness. Martin did appear speedier. Those were the days before very many games were telecast on TV except home games occasionally on Tigervision. I would have been up in the stands for home games.

I saw Hilliard's legs up and in person way too many times in high school. You couldn't tackle him low and you couldn't tackle him high.

Those old baggy cotton sweat pants from the 80s looked like tights on the dude. Not kidding. I don’t have any idea how he could’ve worn regular jeans or something.

I went to the same high school with him but was two years younger. He made one of the best plays I have ever seen to win a football game. In the last seconds of the game he went out for a long pass and over ran the ball but reached back in full stride and tipped it to himself and ran in for the winning touchdown. Right in front of the student section. Will never forget that play. He always seemed to be the fastest player on the field. It was fun to see him move on to LSU.

One of the best runs I ever saw by an LSU back was a 10 yard TD by Sammy. He must have made 5 cuts and ran for 20 yards zig zagging and making guys miss over a 10 yard span. Was awesome. I believe it was the Ole Miss game.
I was going to post this very same thing. It was v. Ole Miss.
The ball was on the 9 or 10. It was a pitch right. He dodged one guy in the backfield and then made a bunch of video game moves that would make Dalton Hilliard look like Larry Czonka. He made at least half a dozen guys miss him, and I'm not sure any of them ever laid a hand on him.
It was unbelievable. Wish I could find that video.

He also beat heavily favored Jesuit on flea flicker late in the game

My last sememester (Summer 87) at LSU, Sammy, Kevin Guidry and Jose Vargas were all in this sociology class. I got the class card because the GA working the sociology desk felt sorry for me. The class was a joke. It was me, students hired as tutors and athletes.
Realizing the class was a joke, I rarely went. Once I decided to go because I had missed about 3 weeks. Sammy and I were the olnly ones to show up. After about 15 minutes we walked to the sociology college. The assistant told us the professor was deathly ill and hadn't had class in 3 weeks. She called us out for not knowing or showing up.
Sammy was pretty cool about it. We left and he was laughing "Dude, we should have never asked and just bailed".
I never went back the rest of the semester. I wonder if Sammy did. He was a cool guy and had no ego.

How about you get a fricking life knowing full well that your point was not about spelling, it was about how he dressed in the mid 80’s which wasn’t far from 1979 during a time when he grew up. As far as disco tech that is what happens with you talk to type because your eyes are not as young as they once were. Spell check did that BECAUSE IT IS USED OFTEN TODAY just check google. Just leave this website O champion. We know you hate on Kelly which is why you’re a fricking tool.
