Steltz Miss St 07 vs Laron's worst game ever.

OK maybe, still close though.

i don't know if we're ever going to get the gift of sean glennan and michael henning back to back to start off a season ever again. that was pure shite at QB that we were playing against to open 2007

dude steltz blew coverage and let ingram score a TD when no DB was within 20 yards of him in the 2nd half

If we're thinking of the same play, all I remember was Steltz and some other DB looking at each other confused, each thinking that the other was going to take the receiver. Was it Steltz's fault? Maybe. I don't know.

But it was just one miscommunication, and really doesn't give him justice for what he did that whole half. Florida went from being completely unstoppable in the first half (luckily they had few possessions), to scoring 7 points in the second half. Mission accomplished. Season saved.

Obviously, there were risks to what he was doing.

They are pretty equal with their senior years. One thing to keep in mind though:

Laron was good for a 15 yard personal foul at least every other game. (Often every game.) There were quite a few of those that hurt us.

But in other games, like the one at Tennessee, he just had a bad day during a really clutch game.

He made Crumpton look like Manning that day.

I think Steltz was a little bit better at playing the ball once it was in the air. Other than that and not getting a couple penalties, LaRon was better at pretty much everything else.

I wouldn't go that far, but if that's what you believe, then why the confusion?

went longer than that...I'm not just talking about interceptions but stops in the running game as well.

then why the confusion

Because by and far Landry was indeed a superb DB and I couldn't believe how poorly he played against a back-up on such a big stage.

he definitely was. laron absolutely sucked at judging balls in the air

but laron got to a lot of balls steltz couldn't dream of getting to, so it evens out in a way

yeah Steltz did get burned in the 2005 SECCG. That was the game where Jessie Daniels was injured. D.J. Shockley hit Sean Bailey for 2 first quarter long bomb touchdowns down the sideline to put UGA up 14-0 early in the game and to set the tone and momentum for the rest of the game.

That was him the whole season. You could tell that he started feeling bigger than the system he was playing in, and just started to play off his own instinct rather than as a part of a larger scheme. It was sort of like watching Mike Tyson box after he married Robin Givens. You could tell from his first game against ULM in '03 that he had crazy talent, but he somehow started getting a little too wild.

By in large Laron was better. Steltz was great player for LSU, but Laron might be the best safety in the history of LSU.

Are you still going about Vick having an average arm? While it may not be as strong as JR's, he has an absolute rocket? He slings balls 60-70 yards with little effort.
