Because he was totally outcoached on 1/9/12!

Our offense was ineffective in the Game of the Century yet Les made no adjustments when we played them in the Natty. Not one change in game plan. Then they shut out offense down even more in the Natty than they did in GOTC where it took us overtime to finally score our 3rd field goal.

Nick completely changed their offensive scheme which dominated our defense in game #2.

We were the dominant team physically but were outcoached and out schemed because Les was too hardheaded to make changes. And that same unwillingness to make changes got him fired.

That's why there is so much hate!

He was a hard headed mother f@cker that did ZERO to change his game plan against them when they did everything to change up theirs. He deserves whatever comes his way for that. He did nothing at the half to make changes either. It's that same hard headedness that got him fired. Did LSU get an upgrade? No they did not. What I'm hoping to see is at least a different attack against a team built to stop what Miles was constantly running. We're 18 years late towards a 21st century offense. The jury is still out.

It's not only that he did not try anything different by putting Lee in as Jefferson was not winning that game, as he did not have the mental part of the game. Evidently, Bozo the clown Les ran the same 4-5 plays he did all season! How pathetic! National Championship and you lose your team leading up to the game (Starting QB) because they know Bama would stomp them with the same futile plays Les thought he would win this game with and Jefferswag running it.

But, getting back to the shitty gameplan, he did not try anything and he gave up... he gave up on his team, the fans, LSU and all our proud alumni. What a joke! His passing play calls were sideways passes even with the line of scrimmage and run up the middle...lol

I never forgot that. Actually, if I am the AD he was gone immediately because of that ONE game. The season was great but talent won. Look at his first home game, he went into ice mode in the second quarter up 21-0, and found a way to lose that game. Look at Tennessee (clock it game), morons could manage the time better.

Because Jefferson had 25 total yards in the SECCG and Les did NOTHING to change the offense. UGA ran the same 3-4 defense that Bama ran. Jefferson was 5/13 for 30 yards and had 6 carries for -5 yards rushing. How he thought that would be sufficient to beat Bama and stuck with the gameplan throughout is why he receives so much vitriol.

Lee was never going to play ever again after the movie with the daughter. Too soon?

To me, it always felt like Jefferson had something on Miles, it was weird...

Putting in Lee just would have made it worse. Blame the oline that didn't bother to show up.
At least 6 complete whifs on blocks allowed bama rush untouched.

He deserved everything he got mostly for the offensive game plan and the preperation. The play calls were embarrassing. You don’t have that much time to prepare for a game and have no wrinkles in playcalling to keep them guessing. He had a total lack of imagination and became way too predictable. You can’t do that against elite defenses.

He put our players in situations where failure was the only option in down and distance. The team’s energy was very poor. You just cant have that for a guy that makes 7.5 Million a year. Fair or not he deserves every ounce of criticism for that game. He embarrassed the school.

Miles was an idiot. For some reason he thought the offense worked in the game of the century. We barely scored 9 points. Would any coach be satisfied with gamplanning for scoring 9 points or less in the rematch??

Despite how bad LSU was on O in that BCSNCG, LSU still had a shot at winning in the 4th qtr and Miles refused to even attempt a change.

If something was up with Lee that we will never know about, at least put Mett in and go down swinging.

Lee played most of the season just fine..

Jefferson was inserted in the SEC game and we actually struggled until TM7 took over in the return game and flipped the script.

Jefferson was 5 of 13 for 30 yards in that game!!

5 of 13

30 yards

He shouldn’t have played that game and he should have had a short leash in the championship game because of it.. but miles never changed!

If you think LSU loss that game because Lee didn't play, you are smoking rope.

Wasn’t the question asked.

The question is why does miles get hate for that game.

Because regardless of what he did wasn’t working he never even changed from it. He never even tried to do anything differently. It was the most frustrating thing to witness. I could accept losing better if we at least explored alternative actions. It was so painful to watch.

My point is that we had the same gameplan in that game as we did in the SEC championship game against UGA and to an extent, the final season game vs. Arkansas.

And as I pointed out.. he had just started inserting Jefferson back into the starting role and that game was very ugly offensively as well up until TM7 sparked LSU. The score did not really reflect how poor the offense looked that day.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, could've led that LSU team to a win against Alabama on 1/9,

what a load of bs

It really is a load of crap. I agree. We had the talent to beat them that game. We did it once at their place. We had an atrocious gameplay and never even tried differently. We could have beaten them that day. It’s college football. For as how sad we were on offense they still only scored 3 tds. That’s sort of a miracle considering our leading rushing had 16 yards? no sustained drives whatsoever. Couldn’t cross the 50?

The missed PAT leads many to think this. No, they didn't score 3 TDs. They scored 1 as well as 5 FGs.

Everyone could tell, including coaches and players, that IT WAS NOT about football.
Whatever it was based on, his arrogance and stubbornness gave LSU zero chance.
one thing is to go down fighting using all the possible weapons you can use
it is another to "surrender" by refusing to do so.

The definition of insanity is to continue to do the same things and to expect different results.
