How much hand-holding is the school expected to do?
You are clueless.
To answer your question, a ridiculous amount, for a ridiculously long amount of time. That's what recruiting is: Building and strengthening relationships with the kids and their families. You never let up. If you do, these highly recruited kids start to assume the love is waning.

quote:sorry, but how many 'LSU is/was my dream school' recruiting scenarios have actually worked out? do you realize that the dream school moniker is actually known as the kiss of death now?
If I was a recruit and had dreamed of playing for LSU all along
dream school is one thing, but it comes down to relating to the coaching staff, etc. dream schools get thrown out the window when it comes to recruiting.
kids are impressionable, they gravitate to the newest shiny objects, which is why recruiting is so important to get them to look past the shininess and get them commit to your school.

The Egg
which is the entire issue with this topic
one side has concerns. other side says to shut up and wait it out.
to me that (shut up and wait attitude but ready to bash if it goes bad) is disingenuous and fanhood hedging

if we filled this team up with kids whos lifelong dream was to go to LSU, we'd be filled with kids from vermilion parish who would barely make the all-district squads.

back on point
this weekend was a missed opportunity by the staff that ran its campaign on recruiting excellence
i hope that those in position make this question public do just that

LSU hosted kids this weekend.
Y’all should get a twitter account so you don’t embarrass yourself like this rouge

that would require some forethought though and actually getting off the couch and doing something rather that vegging out watching their family members on "My 600-lb. Life."

It’s just funny that people are trying to push the notion that we took the weekend off. It didnt look to be a huge host weekend but As we know recruiting has rules, and our big weekends are thoughtfully planned out.
No one was crying when at the end of June we saw a slew of commits after our lineman camp.
From what I can tell UGA hosted a weekend centered around opening some new facilities. That seems like a unique situation in and of itself. A recruit can only be in one place at one time.

Kids either want to play here or they don't. You think one more recruiting event will sway them one way or the other?

Oh so they did have an event. Who did they host? I’m honestly asking.
