I won't argue with that. Certainly believable. Do you think guys like that constitute even a majority of the portion of the LSU fan base that would prefer Lee?

I think race does play a part with some of a the clamoring for Lee over Jefferson...but I think the main thing is the built-up frustration from the previous 2 seasons of seeing Jefferson run that inept offense.

Even without the bar fight, there's just so much fan baggage with Jefferson.

I've heard JJ called a "stupid fricking n*****" on several occasions. Anybody that says there's no racial bias among the pro-Lee/anti-Jefferson crowd is being severely dishonest with themselves and bordering on full-out delusion.

That's not what I'm arguing dawg. There's going to be a decent amount of assholes who think that way. I don't think the posters on this board involved in the debate have that mindset though, barring possibly a few exceptions.

The poster, ambassador, posted after the game that he "will not support affirmative action at the qb position"

Racism in this situation does exist.

There's definitely a segment of the fan base that would rather see a white QB regardless of results. I wouldn't even be able to guess what percentage, but those people definitely exist.

There were plenty of racist calls into the post-game shows during those Booty/Davey seasons.

That's a pretty ignorant thing to say, the difference in JJ and Rohan are night and day my man. JJ seems to struggle terribly as a passer under pressure on a regular basis, Rohan was as cool as ice under pressure damn near 100% of the time. The guy found receivers and got the ball to them time and time again. Stupid fricking thread BTW

Well to that point, yes I do think there is a contingent of LSU fans who think Lee is the far superior QB and gives us a better chance to win football games. It's unfortunate that some people immediately call these folk racist. Probably do so because their too intellectually small to have an actual debate about it.

JJ makes me crazy. Herb Tyler is my favorite QB ever.

I thought Tyler was black till recently.

Couldn't agree more. And I would add that although the old stereotypes are in play, it's not about race for the majority of fans. And even though I think Lee provides us with a lot more in the passing game and game management, I'll say that Jefferson has come a long way in running the option. There was a point in time when possibly Andrew Hatch was more effective than him at doing it because Jefferson used to be absolutely awful at timing a pitch.

BTW, kind of funny how Mauck was the mobile QB with a very mediocre arm before he got injured and Rohan was just a badass pocket passer that lit it up with Reed. ROHAN2REED
