He was able to develop a lot of NFL talent with only mediocre recruiting classes. Think what he will be able to do now that recruiting has, with this last class, finally started to get better, and is currently looking good for 2015 and 16. I don't think his ability to develop talent has suddenly disappeared. We had a one two punch of a string of very mediocre classes combined with a sudden case of players leaving early for the NFL.

Umm... no offense, but while Les and company found some serious gems, they averaged a top 6 class basically before last year. It's not like LSU too top 40 classes and made them into NFLers.

I agree. The 2009 class set the tone for for 2010 and 2011. The 2011 class carried us thru 2012 and 2013. Miles should be able to turn the 2014 class into beasts, per his track record.

But the 2012 class is killing us this year.

I completely disagree. I think 2014 is far worse

I do too. I think this will be Miles worst season at LSU, next year will have to be an improvement.

You think it's rational to be content with blowout losses to MSU and Auburn?

I don't think anybody is "content" with the two bad losses. We just aren't ready to fire the whole staff over it.

I havent seen anyone content with either loss. I'm just not out for Miles' blood like some of the ranters.

It's always like this. Miles somehow finds a way to redeem himself to the base of fans after setbacks.

Even in 2008, he took Bama the distance. The rant is very shortsighted in these things.

alot of the "judgment" is a result of non-improving historical trends. If you give credit to past successes, you have to acknowledge the past failures and the nature of those failures.

Clock management, offensive scheme, reluctance to change or adapt to a changing CFB landscape, etc...
the trends are there to see for those with open eyes.
It's called reality and sometimes reality calls for honesty and sometimes honesty calls for action. But some call it negativity to say changes need to happen. I will say it's important to consider "how" the calls for change are made.

We're all at our best to offer no personal attacks on either the coaches, the players, or other Ranters (no matter how outrageous they may be). Just something to consider.

These people never liked Les from Day 1. they will never like him. these are the same idiots that hate the two te formation. You know that formation we ran 1 fricking time against Auburn. they dont watch the games, they look at the box score then come spew vitriol about our coach.

Similar to 05 class in 08, which isnt Miles' fault.

mainly due to poor coaching

Is it really poor coaching? Fans wanted harris, he played awful, and those are his words. they played beckwith, he gave up the second td and wasnt much better than welter. Yes the lack of depth is on the staff, but i doubt it is poor coaching, we just dont have the studs rt now.

We're at the halfway mark of the season and we're 0-2 in the SEC with both losses being bad losses. Lots of people have already realized this season is likely done for. We'll see for sure over the next two Saturdays. If we find a way to win againt UF and UK, we might yet still make a bowl. It looks unklikely at this point, but there is a glimmer of hope left.

'Rational' derives from the word ratio ... a balance of opposites. Seems the Rant promotes rationality via differing opinions.

If rational criticism wasn't deemed 'venom' or 'hate,' you mightn't think that 'blind' attribute so irrational.

Seeing a lot of venom spewed on this board lately, especially from the anti-miles camp.

Haven't seen any spewed on the early exiters. They are the ones to blame for this mess. Rantards blame Miles for not winning more NC's. How many do you think we could have won with Brockers, Logan, Simon, Minter, Reid, Claiborne, Johnson, Ferguson, Mingo, Montgomery the last 2-3 yrs...

In terms of letting it play out, that is all but off the table for me if 31 plays regular snaps saturday.

Think a lot of it from the 'realitiger' standpoint is a hopeless feeling tat les keeps driving the i form toss dive ship.

We did somewhat improve defensively towards teh end of last yr, but not as talented this year

True LSU fans are only looking for a competitive team and for CLM and his staff to put his young and talented team in the best position to have a chance to win. I don't think any reasonable fan believed this team was going win the sec west but when these fans see the same old status quo then they have a right to be upset. We all want the team to improve and with improvement the wins will come but it seems more often than not they are put in positions to fail and that speaks volumes about their coaching.

Dude I am an admin, I see it all from the scoreboard to today

Deleted, unreadable, marked hidden you have no idea

Believe me, the level of "rational" criticism is significant but not what this thread is about

Who would you play in place of 31 this Saturday? I ask because 52 didn't play any better than 31 last Saturday. Jesus, I'll root for whoever is in the game for LSU, but there sure seems like there's alot of fans who don't mind throwing some of the players under the bus.
